I just heard from April Winchell that she will play "The Ballad of Mike Moran" on her show on KFI AM 640 in Los Angeles. The show is on Saturday nights from 7-10pm.

Perhaps many of you recognize her as the sarcastic complaining woman in the brilliant and funny series of radio commercials for Glendale Fed.

THE BALLAD OF MIKE MORAN was written in honor of firefighter Mike Moran, FReeper firefighter John Moran who died on 9-11, and all the other firefighters who fell on that day of infamy. We hope the CD can sell well enough to be able to give a substantial amount of money to the surviving families of firefighters.

The inspiration came from Mike Moran, on the stage at the VH1 benefit concert in New York, saying "Osama bin Laden, you can kiss my royal Irish ass."

Showing amazing courage when he stood his ground that day with his fellow rescue workers, Mike continued to display his bravery when weeks later, he stood on a national televised stage and offered a tribute to his own fallen brother and many of his comrades.

April's got the funniest show on KFI, the best except for Rush, of course - which is why the "powers that be" over there have cut her back to one show a week on Saturdays. What do those programming folks there use for brains?
