1st of all, this is a bigger more expansive law. And second, it's coming from his administration and he signed it. The first laws like this were bad, this is worse. He should have opposed it, not Proposed it.
But you are right, we shouldn't blame W for anything, after all, he's not Clinton or Gore you know.
If you are suggesting that the buck doesn't really stop on W's desk, then you are hardly paying him a compliment, either.
Yeah, but not for high-volume purchases of, say, Kotex. This will be living hell for Sears and the furniture stores, or the jewelers. I mean, c'mon--what's $10K in the tool area of Sears?

Got news for everybody. This law has been in effect since the 1980's. Go try and buy a Lamborghini in Miami with cash. The law was put into effect decades ago to fight drug traffickers and their money launders. The same $10,000 reporting requirement for banks has been in effect for retailers with large ticket items like: boats, homes, cars, planes, etc. Don't blame it on W.

Well, that's comforting, bpjam.
You say that it doesn't matter that this un-Constitutional "War on Terror" violates our rights, because those rights were already violated by the un-Constitutional "War on Drugs."
I don't blame only Bush. I blame it on all Republicans, those steadfast "defenders" of our liberty. Our citizens trusted them, and our citizens were betrayed.
As an accountant, though-- may I offer a suggestion? Can we just freaking abolish cash? It's a pain in the butt-- gotta have extra procedures to deal with it, and truth be told, no honest person NEEDS to do big cash transactions. OK? No more big cash. We'll use it for nickel and dime stuff only. Thank you. :)
