hmmmm....
"Put on the full armor of God, that you may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forceso f this darkness, against the spiritual forceso f wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm." --Ephesians 6:11-13
Sure sounds like a battle between good and evil to me....

The "hot toy" this Christmas sure won't be "Norbert the Dragon".
Maybe "Nimbus 2000" will introduce a new generation to the joys of housework. >sarcasm<
I agree, the stuff about the 'muggles' in her books is very troubling to me. I do like the stories, they are interesting but the way the muggles are tortured in the latest Harry Potter book bothered me a lot.
There is another area in one of the Harry Potter books, not the first, which deals with a kind of plant that resembles a baby. As I recall, what happens to these "plants" is not pleasent.

Let's be honest - who was torturing the Muggles? The bad guys. Who stuck up for them? The good guys. Who treat Muggles like dirt? Bad guys. Who help and respect Muggles? Good guys! (One character is from a very loving Muggle family, another has a father who's as captivated by Muggle technology as Harry is with magic).
The Muggles were tortured by evil wizards - think Nazis, there's a lot of WW2 parallels in the books. It's portrayed as a bad thing!

Ever hear of 'mandrakes' before? It's traditional folklore. They weren't human, they weren't babies - they were magic plants. That's all.
