What an interesting hypothesis - Are you saying that AIDS is human nature's defense mechanism to rid itself of those who could ultimately destroy humanity?

On the other hand, it could end up destroying humanity itself if the virus ever mutated and became airborne (Read the Red Zone, a true story about the CDC).

Then one could argue that maybe Mother Earth is trying to rid itself of the one organism that it sees as most self destructive - humans - because of the air, earth and water pollution - rain forest depletion, ozone layer destruction, you name it - I remember reading here (Free Republic) linking a report that said something to the effect that a gay man's life expectancy is decades lower than a heterosexual male - because of the high risk behaviors gays indulge in -

Does anyone remember that report and can they link to it?

Nope! Go back and re-read my statement and you'll see that I don't mention AIDS at all. Homosexuality very well may be nature's way of stopping defective genes from being passed on. Normalizing the perversion would be a grave mistake.
