"It is only fitting that the New York City public schools extend to Jews and Christians the same respect for their religious traditions and observances that they now extend to Muslims," Catholic League President William Donohue said.

Exactly!!! The hypocrites are caught again...thanks for the post!

I've come to believe that school administrators are some of the most intellectually lame in our country - behind university professors, of course.

Rather than granting parity, however, Schools Chancellor Levy abandoned the school prayer plan entirely.

Right out of page 37 of the New Butt Order® (NBO) playbook.

It's a small victory.

At least people are now "sensitive" to the fact that every other religion is favored and promoted other than Christianity.

The school was caught favoring one religion over another all for the sake of "diversity" and "cultural sensitivity".

Maybe they'll learn to apply the rules more fairly.

I was in NY yesterday and got to listen to WABC's drive time shows. They were ALL OVER THIS! They do a balanced left-right show in the AM and both guys were up in arms. It was great.

Shine the light of truth on the left and the break and run like the Taliban after a US airstrike.

WABC Radio in New York, which broke the Muslim-prayer-in-schools story last month.

Everyone is pretending this is a new policy and the media just broke the story. Not true.

IN NEW YORK CITY, Muslims can pray in public schools. Christians can’t. Muslims can assemble in school auditoriums, during school hours, and pray. Christians cannot.

So says the New York Post, in a Dec.1, 2000 article titled, “Muslim Kids Get To Pray In School For Ramadan,” by Carl Campanile...

I guess the Chancellor figured he would have to set aside classrooms for kids to pray during Christmas, Kwanze, Hannukkah, Easter, Lent, Yom Kippur, Wicca, Halloween, etc., etc., etc.

I don't see the ACLU's name mentioned.

Surely an oversight. It can't only be Christian practice which offends them can it?

Well, I know what I'll be seeing on the local news tonight. Lots of whining.

"This is what diversity really means—giving equal recognition to the diverse cultural and religious heritages that constitute the American mosaic.

i usually agree with William Donahue but here he's flatly wrong. What diversity really means is balkanization and the death of America.

Good News!!!...sort of. In a perfect world I wish every child could practice their own faith wherever they wish including schools. This partiality in favor of all religions but Chrisitanity is nothing but the inherent hatred most academia and media in parts this nation have for Christianity.

An example: My 2 girls attend Sudbury public schools in the People's Republic of Massachusetts. Their school calendar makes reference to Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur specifically as holidays but declares Christmas and Easter as Winter Recess and Spring Recess respectively. They also honour any other religious holiday for the kids individually but never ever make any reference to Chrisitian holidays per se. I have nothing against Yom Kippur or Rosh Hashanah ...or even Purim for that matter:>) but why show favoritism..It's almost like the predominate religion in this nation historically is obligated to make itself invisible so as not to offend anyone else on any matter that is considered "public"..When I was a boy over 3 decades ago now....public schools made accomodations for all kids even though my school was predominately Christian...the dozen or so Jewish kids had their own thing and were exempt from Christian things.

Our Courts have sure let the anti-Christian secularists run wild over all of us and we've taken it lying down for the most part. This Ramadan reversal is a victory in an uncomfortable way...for me.

Rather than risk Christianity in their socialist indoctrination center ?

Jeasus Christ just keeps ruining their Marxist plans!
