NEW Gallup: Bush's Soaring Approval More Sustained Than Any In Presidential History
GALLUP ^

Posted on 11/16/2001 1:11:37 PM PST by hawaiian

"President Bush's job approval rating shows no sign of decline. The latest Gallup poll, conducted Nov. 8-11, measures the president’s approval rating at 87%. Bush’s job approval has remained at 86% or higher in seven polls conducted over two months. In the history of Gallup polling, no prior presidents have been able to sustain their high approval levels, with no apparent decline, this long." Full Story

No prior President has had such a slime-bag of a predecessor to measure against.

You mean our charming x42, the moral reprobate?

I am saddenned too. Saddenned that any one of us can be taken out by these terrorist scum at any time, and that the risk of having both the Pres and the VP taken out at once is now both too likely and too dangerous to allow our leaders to live relatively safely.

But more than saddenned, I am enraged (which I guess I have demonstrated), and determined that whatever is reasonably necessary be done until the scum are expunged.

"friendly to the Bush camp"?

That makes no sense to me. You make it sound like the "Bush Camp Commandos" wanted him President so bad they leaned on the Company and extracted an assassination attempt they were sure they could get away with.

Hardly. I've always read Wallaby's Hinkley thread as a noose around the Bush family neck, silly. It being THAT easy to frame -- with both fact and red herring innuendo -- the likes of the Bush family, even. Need I repeat what I said about the brains on the front burner? One the one hand, Neil can get off scott-free for Silverado whilst the hypocrite left screams in vain for 8 years about Whitewater. On the other, Reagan just happens to be shot at by the son of a Bush family friend. C'mon, Pardek. Get with the program. I don't call them Useful Idiots for nothing.

I think the three-term Bush tenure in the executive branch worked out splendid for all involved, actually.

I think there's something to be said for surviving an assassination attempt ... makes a person larger than life. While I think the Long-Range types bent on power are more rigid in their ultimate objective, they are not so rigid in their means ... truth is just as useful as lies, for instance.

predicted a landslide GWB win here on FR in 2000. There are some real problems here, folks.

Yes, voter fraud, and it has to be stopped in 2004 so it doesn't happen again. We need to take the dead and felon democrats off their voting registers.
The press also has to wait to stop voter rigging as well.
If all the votes had been in before the press played their role, and the military votes that clinton held up were counted, the polls would have been correct.

Unfortunately, we is accurate. Our representatives in the House and Senate made sure of that by supporting him in every disgusting adventure.

There is a protocol that mandates that in times of war, or if our leaders are at risk, both will be separated and removed to secured locations. The secret service is responsible for keeping them safe and will follow a set of prescibed rules in doing so. The purpose is to maintain an even flow of power. If something happens to one, the other takes command without any weakening in our government.

When our nation was under attack on 9-11, which was obvious to everyone except maybe you, then it is anticipated that our President and our Vice President are targets. (It's a bit archaic, but surely you are familiar with the old adage of 'cut off the head of the snake'...) The purpose of 'cutting off the head' is to promote chaos as to who is in charge, who will command, and will everyone follow this down-the-line person's commands.

Perhaps you have forgotten that the fourth plane, the one that went down in a cornfield with 'let's roll', was suspected to have been heading for the White House. I don't recall what was going on in the White House that day or which top government officials were there, but it is a sure thing that the terrorists hoped that both the President and the Vice President would be incinerated. It is not cowardice that keeps our President and Vice President safe, but the common sense of mandates laid out years ago for the possibility of such events.

the GOP got shellacked this fall, we don't have the Senate, and GWB's father managed to lose in 1992 in spite of similar ratings.

I also abjure overconfidence. But I also like facts:
The GOP did not get shellacked. We won an overwhelming majority in the VA legislature, and even in the face of the usual treachery by the liberal GOP bosses had only minor losses in NJ.
The change in the Senate after the election had to do with the bribery of one Senator, and not to any decision of the electorate.
The high ratings of GB-41 lasted for about 2 weeks. Ephemeral opinions can be easily changed. Opinions consistent for months, and which seem destined to last longer, become engrained in the public mind.

However, the campaign against the old-line aristocrats of the liberal GOP, and the Demoncrats, must be fought like we are fighting the Taliban. Get them on the run and obliterate them.

about Whitewater

I remember following that. I was young, but my parents were keeping tabs on it.
At the time, the democrap party was recieving large sums of money from communist Cuba.
If the nation had known, it would have destroyed the democraps. The nation didn't have the political correctness cult nor the commie socialists it has now.
The Republicans knew it, but had to find a way to prove it.
That's what the break in was all about. They needed to warn the American people of the democraps treason, but got caught. They never had the chance to expose the democraps .

I think you need to read my reply again.

I don't think the "Bushes" are actually in charge of diddly-squat. It's one of the reasons my "hating" them is so ludicrous and it's a primary reason they just sail along so placidly whether they're on top of the world or getting squashed like a bug by the likes of Clinton. They're raking it in, they get to play power-monger, people pay them to fly all over the world and get treated like royalty ... what spoiled frat boy of a politician/banker's son wouldn't like -- or feel somehow entitled to -- that sort of life?

I think they've got lots of power, lots of connections and even some firm ideas on what they want. But I don't think they've set out to rule the world (or even the United States) ... certainly not by trying to assassinate Reagan.

They aren't the deepest of thinkers. Listen to them speak.

They at least make sense when they talk...unlike your fanciful excursions into what I am sure you feel is "deep thinking". DEEP THOUGHTS .. By ASKE15.

Do you believe the assasination attempt on Reagan was a "lone gunman", or a conspiracy?

I'm thrilled at Bushs' poll numbers. I like our President and VP. I'd vote for them again in a second!
I'm out in full force always reminding, as well as informing, those who do not follow politics, what clinton and his minions have done to almost destroy this great nation.
I'm diligent, and many are learning about the real clinton legacy, and they're shocked when they hear the truth.
I just keep racking up new voters. It's become a hobby, and I'm even keeping score.
It's a lot of fun.
