Harry Potter? Just the tip of the iceberg!
Take a look at this evidence, and tell me that the goat-burning Pentagrammers aren't after your tykes! Get thee behind me, Elmer Fudd!

Maybe, just maybe because it was stupid!! and there was no use responding to it. Maybe because you sould like some sort of crazy fundamentalist!!
No, that couldn't be it, huh?

Thank you, we needed that here!! This thread is a definite tinfoil beanie alert, or major psychological problems with people that actually think this.
Why do people think this thread has truned into a sarcastic free for all!! I love that part, it's the ones that are serious that scare me!!

LOCK HAVEN, PAAshley Daniels is as close as you can get to your typical 9-year-old American girl. A third-grader at Lock Haven Elementary School, she loves rollerblading, her pet hamsters Benny and Oreo, Britney Spears, and, of course, Harry Potter. Having breezed through the most recent Potter opus in just four days, Ashley is among the millions of children who have made Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire the fastest-selling book in publishing history. And, like many of her school friends, Ashley was captivated enough by the strange occult doings at the Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft And Wizardry to pursue the Left-Hand Path, determined to become as adept at the black arts as Harry and his pals.
"I used to believe in what they taught us at Sunday School," said Ashley, conjuring up an ancient spell to summon Cerebus, the three-headed hound of hell. "But the Harry Potter books showed me that magic is real, something I can learn and use right now, and that the Bible is nothing but boring lies."

Don't take this as a slam, but you do know "The Onion" is a satire site. I only ask because about half of the anti-HP arguments on FR came from posts of that very same article. I assume you do know that, but had to ask.

I quickly saw through the "Onion" article. It was way over the top. Didn't waste my time. Don't have time for stupid sh@#*!

You're entitled to your opinion! Fortunately it does not agree with mine!

According to Jack T. Chick, Bewitched is Satan's favorite TV program. I had never heard of Jack T. Chick until this thread, so the other night, I did a search on him. I ended up reading about 50 of his tracts online, and reviews of these tracts, and had simply horrible nightmares about the "lake of fire" and people going "Haw Haw Haw"!

I liked the tract where the bad guy gets bailed out of jail, and you can see "wanted" posters for Frankenstein and Dracula in the background:

I know from whence I speak: When my sons were very young, we would have a game night on Saturday. Each child got his favorite snack, and we would play some kind of board game and then when "Creature Features" would come on, we would watch the program. I thought it was so innocent. However, when my sons were teenagers, they both got into drugs; this is a really heavy duty occult operation. I read this poignant post earlier this evening, and I've been unable to get what you wrote out of my head. Sueann, you sound like you did all the right things with your kids, and I find your story about Saturday nights playing board games, fixing snacks for the kids, and watching the Creature Feature quite touching. I don't know why your kids had problems with drugs (there are parents who do all the right things and have kids into drugs, so there's no guarantee on this), but I'm glad to hear that they're living good lives now. And I read your profile and saw that they've given you three lovely grandchildren. Although I disagree with you about Harry Potter, I know your heart's in the right place.
