Name one person who reads the Harry Potter books "looking for power". Just one. I'll wait...
That would be like reading the Uncle Scrooge comic books "looking for money".
People, including me, read the Harry Potter books because we're looking for an entertaining, imaginative, wholesome story. And that's exactly what we find.
Don't try to make it more than it is.
And where were you when they were handing out the Goosebump books in school?
Now we are waiting for you to produce one adult...one sane adult (or even one healthy child) for us all to see, who actually threw in their lot with ol' slew foot after reading Harry Potter. Maybe then I might venture that you might be onto something.
If you can't point to one recovering Satanist who got his start from the pages of these books, all you are doing is piously pontificating.
You know, you might be onto something. I was wondering why my sister bought that huge black cauldron and was looking for bat's feet....
I say yes, because of what I know about how satan operates. He operates in people who don't know God. Because they don't know, satan is free to influence them; and he does.
This may seem like simple and/or stupid stuff - but that's the hook. Jesus said, "satan roams about, as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour". I guess that means that it's up to us whether we allow the devil to devour us or not. If we are responsible for whether the devil can devour us, then we should not tinker with stuff we don't understand. Some things may seem harmless on the surface, but the underlying motive is really very evil.
Unfortunately, this harmless on the surface/underlying evil is the devil's stock in trade. It is how he deceives people. I am particularly saddened to see parents gloating that their child devours these HP books and that the child reads them over and over. No better way to indoctrinate a child than to repeat and repeat material.
What's even sadder is a lot of adults are getting hooked on this HP stuff. The problem is they don't really know what they're getting into. They think it's so innocent; but the result can be devastating. People are looking for "power". God is the real power, but people who don't know Him, end up settling for a substitute.
Now, you can accept what I've said and really start to investigate this stuff for yourself, or you can choose to disbelieve me. But, you have heard the truth and someday you will have to account for the truth you have heard. And ... you can never stand before God and say, "I didn't know", because then he will rerun this message for you.
What I'm saying may seem drastic, but again I'm telling you, you don't know what you're dealing with - it's not funny and it's not a joke!
I know from whence I speak: When my sons were very young, we would have a game night on Saturday. Each child got his favorite snack, and we would play some kind of board game and then when "Creature Features" would come on, we would watch the program. I thought it was so innocent. However, when my sons were teenagers, they both got into drugs; this is a really heavy duty occult operation. During this time, I was born again and began to see how evil some of these things were. Finally, my sons were also born again; they no longer do drugs, and they no longer seek any occult stuff. I have experienced what this occult stuff can do to children, and I can assure you it is no joke.
Here's the entire reason I got into magic!
