Interesting that AP left out the 1979 Memorial Day weekend crash of a DC-10 taking off from Chicago O'Hare in which the engine fell off.

250 people were killed.

I have some questions concerning a major airline crash back in 1972, 1973, or 1974. I have gone back to the F.A.A. n.t.s.b files and they only go back 20 years on posted crashes. Anyone know how to get earlier info???Has to do with a crash from L.A. to wash. D.C.. Thanks.
