Bush wins - AGAIN! He's won the Florida election FOUR times now! Must be a record?????
``We are a nation of laws and the presidential election of 2000 is over,'' Gore said Sunday in a prepared statement. ``Right now, our country faces a great challenge as we seek to successfully combat terrorism. I fully support President Bush (news - web sites)'s efforts to achieve that goal.

Said Bush press secretary Ari Fleischer (news - web sites): ``The election was settled a year ago, President Bush won and the voters have long since moved on.''

I was hoping they would have found Al Gore was the definite winner. I love to hear Dumocrats whine.

If you recall BEFORE election night Drudge bragged how he would release VNS Poll data BEFORE the networks did.
Sure enough, before the 2nd time zone in FL closed he "announced" Gore won.
Then Fox, according to O'Reilly, was the 1st network to "announce" Gore won before the FL polls had closed.
On election night I was at a friends house while she was on the State of FL election return site,
it showed Bush ahead while Fox and everyone else said Gore won.
I wonder how many Bush votes were lost by the 2nd time zone due to Drudge, Fox etc.

"The goal of the news organizations was not to learn who really ``won'' Florida..... The aim was to provide a valuable historical record...." = Total BS

No doubt about it! The Western part of Florida (panhandle) is HEAVY military voters. As DUMB as it is, many voters left lines to go home (or just didn't stop by their polling place) since "Gore won" and their vote "wouldn't matter" anyway. I would NEVER do that. . .

I'm sure plenty!
I remember watching and seeing the totals and Bush was ahead and they called it for Gore- I turned to my wife in total disgust, it was very confusing to say the least.

This is even better than I hoped. It shows that if Gore had not try to cheat - "recounting" in only those counties that were favorable to him - then he may have had a shot.

Strategy backfire, eh Al? tehehe

If they were really that concerned about "the historical record" they would have conducted the same in all 50 states; not just Florida.

You got that right!

"Florida's election saw 6.1 million votes cast, and county figures suggest that more than 176,000 ballots, or 2.9 percent, never made it into the certified totals.

That percentage is not unusual and likely would have attracted little attention but for the closeness of the outcome. Nationwide last year, about 2 percent of ballots were disqualified. Some states were far higher: Illinois with 3.9 percent, Georgia 3.5 percent, South Carolina 3.4 percent of votes untallied for a variety of reasons."

As a FL observer volunteer in PB County, I san say, having seen hundreds of these ballots up close and personal a few things about this appalling article:

This article reveals the relentless leftist agenda of teh subversive Lefties who did this so-called "study."

The truth is you cannot caount "over-votes" becasue the voter voted TWICE, and that would require psychic posers to determine the "voter's intent."

Nor can you count under-votes" becasue that means the person never VOTED for the office, period, which reasoning, besides breaking the law, extrtapolates voter intent from....NOTHING at all!

Bush actually won for the eighth time by my count...

They didn;'t count the OVERSEAS MILITARY VOTES WHICH WERE THROWN OUT by arbitrary fiat!

Nor did they count the 10,000 to 15,000 FL Panhandle votes & voters disenfranchised stolen by the fraudulent TV Networks deliberate false call before the FL Panhandlle closed.

I bet it must have ticked them off knowing they spent all that money reviewing ballots just to learn that Bush really did win. Didn't the NYT spend tons?

Actaully, even these Leftist creeps found Bush won, they just hid behind a bunch of lies.

Who but a Gore supporter would have the interest and drive to "count" these votes when it is settled legal and historical fact thjat Bush won, ---- now for the 8th and 9th time!

As I noted above, counting over-votes and under-votes requires "hallucintaion" and "mind-reading" because over votes involve voting TWICE and under votes involve not voting at all for the office!

You musdt mind-read to count over-votes and you must halllucinate to count une\der-votes; I know, I saw hundreds of ballots --very close up --- in PB County as a Bush volunteer vote observer.

The media simply couldn't live with a Bush win. This media "consortium" paid 1 million dollars to prove it didn't happen. The organization the media hired is one million dollars richer. They are the real winners of this umpteenth vote count.

But thank goodness they are honest enough to admit, they didn't really count votes, they counted what they perceived as the "intentions" of voters.

Voting by Karnack.

LOL you bet the dumbcrats tried to only count their own counties and LOST IN THEIR OWN COUNTIES. Thank goodness they didn't listen to the Republicans for a state-wide recount. But where are those MILITARY BALLOTS?????

"But questions about the uncounted votes lingered. "

So, what else is new? The Florida recount is a dim memory and pales in light of 9/11.

"Gore sought a recount of a relatively small portion of the state's disputed ballots while the review indicates his only chance lay in a course he advocated publicly but did not pursue in court - a full statewide recount of all Florida's untallied votes.

Gore asked for a recount in predominantly Democratic precints only. A recount of the entire state still would have had Bush as the winner. Rarely, if ever, has a recount reversed an election. I recall that the Bush/Cheyney team were willing for a recount of the entire state but that Gore was not willing for that to be done. Gore knew that a recount would have given Bush an even wider margin. He wanted only the 4 democratic precints recounted because he knew fraud and cheating by his operatives had been put in place.

"I'm sure plenty! I remember watching and seeing the totals and Bush was ahead and they called it for Gore- I turned to my wife in total disgust, it was very confusing to say the least.

Exactly. I remember seeing the scroll at the bottom of the screen indicating that Bush was ahead in Florida by 51% to 47% when the state was called for Gore. I was stunned by that and couldn't understand how that could be. Also, when Gore finally conceded, he was down over 60,000 votes. But in a matter of an hour, that lead evaporated. Thus the famous "don't get snippy" phone call to Bush. The fix had already been in. His initial concession was all show. His operatives were already on the plane heading for Florida to begin the election fiasco while he was giving his so-called "concession" to Bush.
