Seems all dams against obscenity and blasphemy have been breached on television. I am apalled by the routine use of both. The coarsening of our public discourse and our language is relentless.

Obscenity is in the eye (or ear) of the beholder, blasphemy is direct attack against God, big difference don’t you think? I have no problem with appropriate language when necessary to make a point that needs to be made, but I do draw the line of taking the Lord’s name in vain.

It's rather amazing. I've seen plenty of war movies that got the point across without assaulting the ears. Even children could watch and be moved by the sacrifices made. All without the "f" word.
