It's rather amazing. I've seen plenty of war movies that got the point across without assaulting the ears. Even children could watch and be moved by the sacrifices made. All without the "f" word.

They chose to make this one with the f word. It's called freedom. You have the freedom not to watch.

Yes - I would say that the very best of them convey the horror of it without the need to abuse the ear. And when the words becomes routine? What is left? What are your examples of truly effective war movies?
