In light of the Daffodil Principle where individual efforts over time add up to a mammoth contribution, we are looking at ways to use this lesson as we seek to promote conservatism, the Republican Party and the administration of George Bush.

We are currently involved in a letter-writing campaign - Project Daffodil-Letters. Some of us have been involved in the Klamath Falls Petition, and the People First petition to defund the Endangered Species Act. For more information about these projects and future projects, please visit the link above (Click on the picture above.)

I guess I should go check on kneezles. He is playing electrician - putting a new ballast in the kitchen light - and my electricity in the office keeps going off. hehe

Good Morning, all! I can't believe I am up this early on a Saturday. Remember when we were little and our parents made us take naps and we would (or at least I know I would!) totally protest against it? Now, I would give anything for someone to say, "You have to take a nap!" Well, let's just say you wouldn't have to tell me twice!

I hope the sun is shining on everyone like it is here in Chicago, though I hope it's a little warmer for everyone, too- it's only about 40 degrees outside. Today Retrokat and I start condo/townhouse shopping. We don't plan on moving until the spring or summer, but we are checking out neighborhoods now so we don't make the same mistake that we did in our current neighborhood. The final bill to replace my stolen tire & wheel was $890.

I will try to check in later and get up to speed with what is going on. Everyone have a great day!

$890 - Yikes! I've purchased tires and wheels INCLUDING the car for $890. That is bordering on the obscene.
PLEASE be sure and check out any homeowner's association which may go with your new home. A bad one can mess up your life so much more than a tire theft, than you can ever imagine.
The very best of good house-hunting luck to you, JL

Tell me about it! Honey, I could go on forever about how this place has turned to garbage after a year and half! We found out a little while after we moved in that this complex had recently starting taking section 8 housing applicants. When they started moving in is when they raised our association costs and when things started going to hell. Here's the recent list of goings on:
1. My PT Cruiser tire and chrome wheel stolen.
2.Girl with a brand new Cougar had all 4 tires and wheels stolen.
3. In the building across from ours someone OD'd.

We live in an upper middle-class suburb of Chicago. The townhouses that are about 100 feet away start at $300,000 and the average home price is $200,000. If we had known they took section 8 people, we never would have moved here. I wonder if my stupid Dim senator Dick Durbin's neighborhood takes section 8 or if he has ever had to replace his tires because someone stole them? Somehow I doubt it, yet there are his Dim social programs hard at work stealing the nations tires.

Okay, I will stop ranting now. I am going to go catch the end of MST3K and then Antiques Roadshow to take my mind off of the freaks around here. I try to look for the good in every situation and I think that moving will be very good for Retrokat, Hello Kitty, and me. My realtor keeps sending me all these places that allow dogs and that makes me so excited! I want a little dog so bad! I don't think Hello Kitty will like it, but that is tough. When she learns to walk on two legs she can make some of the decisions around here.

Everyone take care and get some locking lugnuts! $30 at Trakauto!

DaughterofEve, I love your name! Thanks for the empathy; sometimes I need a pat on the back.

SassyMom, your picture is hysterical! HLL, "Is that Chappaqua?" is priceless.

Lodwick, it is good to have you here. Your presence has only added to the Guild.
