I'm posting this on FR so that we can have it for the Archives; sometimes these articles get pulled from other servers.

"The people who died represent, in my view, not only the best of America, but the best of the world that I worked hard for eight years to build"

gee... now he's not only running for Secretary General, but God!

Compare this to President Bush, who wrote in "A Charge to Keep":

"I could not be President if I did not believe in a divine plan that supersedes all human plans. Politics is a fickle business. Polls change. Today's friend is tomorrow's adversary. People lavish praise and attention. Many times it is genuine; sometimes it is not. Yet I build my life on a foundation that will not shift."

Thank God for that foundation... the differences between these two men are as great as light and darkness.

" Imagine yourself on September the 10th. Nothing's happened on September 11th. Try to remember how you viewed the world on September 10th. If I had asked you on that day, "What is the single most dominant element of the 21st Century world," what would your answer have been?"

The end of your sorry 8 years and the inaguration of President George W. Bush!

As a public service, having deactivated the GagOMeter temporarily, after being struck by how many times blubba used the word "I" in the first paragraph (not to mention the whoppers he told, such as when he grew up during the Civil War), I submit this incomplete review of the first ten paragraphs. (I couldn't keep the GagOMeter silent any longer.)

This is at least how often blubba used each of the following words in the first ten paragraphs. I may have missed some. Use of "we" as noted here is when blubba is claiming victory or identification with a group, such as his administration, rather than making a general statement.

Watch Bill Clinton refer to himself in the first ten paragraphs
--------------------------------------------------------
I = 44 times
me = 5 times
my = 7 times
we = 12

It stood out that he often uses "I" when it is totally unnecessary; for example, where a factual statement could be made, he begins it by saying something like, "I want to tell you about how I handled this situation."

"General Sherman practiced a relatively mild form of terrorism-"

Insult my esteemed forebearer, Billy boy? Them's fightin' words, you sorry SOB! Somehow, I think General Sherman's burning of Atlanta with the intent of preserving the Union is far less the act of a terrorist than what you did to the whole country for 8 long, long years by coddling real terrorists.

It seems like all his speeches: His thought so lacks structure that when he is finished, you remember nothing of what he has said.

Georgetown and America should be ashamed.

Was this blithering idiot ever President of the United States? How could that have happened?

For once I may even watch those Sunday Morning Shows to see if they give Clinton the drubbing he deserves.

Rockwell is doing his best to dissociate himself from Clinton's remarks, but if you tightened them up a bit and changed the author's name, he would probably print them.

The bad news is that Clinton is still around. The good news -- if there is any good news -- is that his remarks aren't going to make much sense or do him much good from now on.

This country once looked the other way when significant numbers of Native Americans were dispossessed and killed to get their land or their mineral rights or because they were thought of as less than fully human and we are still paying the price today. Even in the 20th century in America people were terrorized or killed because of their race. And even today, though we have continued to walk, sometimes to stumble, in the right direction, we still have the occasional hate crime rooted in race, religion, or sexual orientation. So terror has a long history.

And so, according to Bill Clinton, Americans, Americans of European Christian ancestry that is, are terrorists, no better and no different than those that are knee deep in the blood of those killed on September 11.

When I became president in January of '93 there were only fifty sites on the worldwide web. When I left office there were 350 million.

At first I thot this was another whopper, then I realized that he was talking about himself.

Here's how it should read:When I became president in January of '93 there were only fifty sites on the worldwide web about me. When I left office there were 350 million.

That may be the only thing truthful in the whole speech!!

Anyone see anything else truthful?

In my lifetime Martin Luther King was killed just before, a couple of months before I graduated from Georgetown, trying to preach this message.( April 4, 1968)

Bobby Kennedy killed two days before our college graduation, trying to preach this message. (June 5, 1968)

The greatest spirit of the age, Ghandi, killed not by a mad Muslim but by a Hindu who thought he was a traitor because he thought India could be a home for the Muslims and the Sikhs and the Jains and everybody.

Sadat killed not by an Israeli commando, but by the predecessor of the number two guy in Al Quaeda twenty years ago, angry at him, not a good Egyptian because he was not a faithful Muslim believing as he did in secular government and peace with Israel.

And my great friend, Yitzhak Rabin killed not by a Palestinian terrorist but by an Israeli who thought he was not a good Jew or a patriotic Israeli because he wanted peace and a homeland for the Palestinians as the surest means of security for the Israelis.

This is not easy to do, but I'm telling you, no terrorist campaign has ever succeeded, and this one won't if you don't give it permission. You can have the most exciting time in human history, but we have to defeat people who think they can find their redemption in our destruction.

Then we have to be smart enough to get rid of our arrogant self-righteousness so that we don't claim for ourselves things that we deny for others. Then in the end, we've got to be able to stand up and say, we are not against Islam, but we want to have a clear understanding about what we think is the nature of truth, the value of life, and the content of community. If we do that, you will still live in the best time the world has ever known.

It's weird all of the I/our we/you/your transitions... A suicide note or drunk incoherency? King's last speech was similarly strangely prophetic in hind sight...will this one be too?

Anyone else think so? It isn't outside of his psychological profile.

Howlin - thank you thank you thank you. Your work on seeing to it that this speech and the x42's pro-terrorist remarks do not get a free pass.

I started to watch the video but a wave of nausea overtook me and I had to cut it off.

You and others talk about his slurred speech. Could you elaborate? And many say he was either drunk or on drugs during this speech. Could somebody please elaborate on that?

The speech itself is so bizarre and outrageous = it would be torn to shreds if a Republican made this speech - by the media whores.

They must not be allowed to slide by on this. It is THEIR FORMER PRESIDENT SPEAKING! For God's sake, this man had control of our country's national security for eight years.....can they not see what damage he has done?

Remember how they said after Reagan was diagnosed with Alzheimers, that he must have had it during his Presidential years????? And they talked about him sleeping at cabinet meetings???

And here we have x42 SPEAKING AS IF HE WORKED FOR THE TALIEBAN!!!!!! AND THEY ARE GOING TO GIVE HIM A FREE RIDE???

I don't think so!

Word Counts:

"I" = 95

"Me" = 10

"My" = 15

He thinks it's all still about him. What a loser!
