Like Britain in 1939, we're at war but not yet in it.

That was an interesting speech President Bush gave last night in Georgia. Its subject was homeland security, and in terms of content, style and tone it seemed to be, essentially, nothing new. And yet by the end and after reading it, I thought: He's telling us a great deal here.

Starting to feel like all those American Indians, who upon looking at the advancing hordes of Englishmen, Scotsmen, Irishmen, and Germans in the northeast, the Frenchmen and Spaniards in the south, the Russians in the northwest, and asked eachother "I thought the chief said that Christianity was a religion of peace?"

Colonization is not Jihad. Simple enough for you?

I agree with you about day one, but what Peggy is saying is that we have a much broader fight to fight, and I agree with her 100%. President Bush has plans for a much wider assault on these terrorist than what we think. I am convinced that if we don't destroy the Taliban, and all of Al-Qaeda and the countries who support and harbor them, we will face an attack of unprecidented devistation.

The stakes are way too high and if we continue thinking that we can out propaganda these bottom dwellers we are only fooling ourselves. We must stand up and destroy these terrorist before they destroy us. Anyone who thinks the Taliban or any other terrorist group will refrain from nuking us because of what we might do to them in return is a fool. We are not dealing with a "NATION" or "STATE", we are dealing with a finatical bunch of radical muslims who have absolutely no regard for human life, including their own.

In the Phoney War, millions of armed men sat eyeing each other from opposing fortifications. In this Phoney War, a couple of hundred special combat troops are serving most often as advisors and air co-ordinators for a bunch of uncivilized tribesmen.
