[history]
Bill Clinton, the former president, said yesterday that terror has existed in America for hundreds of years and the nation is "paying a price today" for its past of slavery and for looking "the other way when a significant number of native Americans were dispossessed and killed."

, opened his 50-minute speech by thanking a former teacher. No doubt he meant that communist Quigley or whatever his name was! If my books weren't packed up, I could tell you!

And the church burnings . . . Did he mention the church burnings? He's playing ALL the cards here: race, religion, class.......I am just stunned at this.
Who does he think he IS to be lecturing us NOW.........he is fast becoming the most divisive person in this country, even more than Sharpton or Jackson!

I wonder why the lamestream media, who always hang on clinton's every word, hasn't widely reported this speech.Because he sounds like a bigger commie now than when he was in office, that's why. This speech would scare the liver out of any Democrat with any money in the bank. Between its lines are reparations here and free lunch, education, and health care for the entire world, with us paying the tab. This while he blissfully evades the fact that the 9/11 terrorists were EDUCATED MEN, and that he did remarkable little in the way of preventing terrorism for eight years.
I wish this guy would lose his voice.

These are some of the worst comments I have heard from ANY American since Sept. 11.
They rival Bill Maher.
To: DrTEJ
It does say something about GU...but nothing about the catholic church....you forget, GU is a Jesuit run institution....they are the original "the end justifies the means" order.

I pity the fool! This is just another in a long line of desperate efforts to retain the attention of the American populace.
Everyone from just left of center to the hardcore right detests the man. There's nothing left for him to do but adapt his "message" to the few remaining uber-leftists who will still give him his daily fix of adulation.
Hell, he's not even an effective power broker in a town that put his wife in the Senate and voted against GW 5 to 1. It's either go left or disappear--whadya bet he goes even further to the left in the future?

Good grief, all he left out were the church burnings he witnessed as a child. This lying, raping sack of excrement's comments leave me nauseated.

You need to see this.

More of the "Don't blame me for 9-11" strategy.

Still trying to keep a foothold. He is nothing but pathetic. I hate him, truly.

If you live in a country where you're never required to take responsibility for yourself, where you never even have to ask whether there's something you should be doing to solve your own problems, where someone else's success is the cause of their distress. Agree that this describes Clinton's own philosophy all too well. No accountability for anyone, which of does nothing but weaken people instead of strengthening them.

The man is delusional.

and it becomes quite easy for them to believe that someone else's success is the cause of their distress. Sounds exactly like what the Clintons believe......that they are right and why is everybody else disagreeing with them.

Totally agree with every one of your comments.
(and with those of most of the FR Commentators.
I challenge any Free Republic member to get any Democrat they can find - read this to them - and ask them to either repudiate or endorse THEIR PARTY'S LEADING EX-OFFICE HOLDER!

yep 8 years of increasing warnings and no response.
As the gasbag finds himself surrounded more and more by those who care not a wit what he has to say, the crys in the darkness become more shrill.
Such is the life of the ultimate loosser. Doesn't even have interns fawning over him, got to advertise. What a let down.

I am just sickened by this communist, hate America, shill. I guess he forgot to mention how we rebuilt Europe after WW2, how we kick started Japans economy and rebuilt them, I guess he forgot to mention the trillions in aid to all countries of the world that we spend, or the fact that we are the first to send food, clothing, and shelter in any natural disaster.
Did he mention all the debts owed us that we have canceled or never collected on? The immigrants we have taken in when we didn't need to? Or the industries we have given up to give countries like Germany, with nothing to export, a way to live? Did he mention that we could be a world dictator but didn't want to use our power that way?
To think that people were stupid enough to vote for him twice and still buy the snake oil that he sells. Gad how I despise people that hate our country, from Clinton, to those liberals in congress, senate, and government to the everyday liberal. They can talk about America united all they want to, I will never unite with these despicable traitors.

What's a snit?...... LOL.
Yes our former makes a lot of statements covering the waterfront.....
- The former president, who left office just 10 months ago after an eight-year tenure, said the federal government is "woefully" lacking on several key terrorism-prevention areas.
- If you live in a country where you're never required to take responsibility for yourself,
- we are woefully lacking is the simple use of modern computer tech to track people that come into this country,"

Oh Howlin, I haven't even had coffee yet. He is trying to wreck the coalition and whip up anti war protests. He is trying to turn Bush into LBJ all over again. The man is beneath contempt. And all this slavery stuff, we paid for that in spades with a civil war that broke everyone's hearts. We have paid in affirmative action, job preferences and the allowing of a certain blindness in terms of what achievement is. Our black citizens have been paid for the wrongs that were inflicted on them. And the Indians, I refuse to call them native americans. Big deal, they lost, we won and brought them out of the stone age. I despise Bill Clinton, he is a total psychopath.
