The Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem is an act of hate and of hate speech by Muslims against Jews and Christians. Neither the US nor Britain would ever allow such an object to be created, nor such a collection of slander to be publicly displayed.
Remember, every bit of that oh-so-pretty Arabic arabesque script on this little shrine dating from AD 691, is a slander-in-stone, posing as a sermon-in-stone, against Christianity which had ruled Jerusalem for centuries under Byzantium prior to the Islamic takeover in the AD 638-40 era. "God has no Son. It is Blasphemy to Say He has Taken a Son." would be the least of what is written there. This Dome is not a mosque, and it is an artifact of pure hatred against Christianity.
It also is an artifact of pure hatred against Judaism, for it occupies and stands upon the holy precincts of the Temples of Solomon and of Herod (first and second Temples)...a dog in the manger as it were, which neither itself worships, nor allows the Jews to worship, God as He ought to be. This building is preventing the Jews from re-establishing the Temple and its sacrifices for the good of all mankind and the peace of the world.
As I understand it, the Dome itself stands over the area reserved solely for Jewish men (court of Israel) in the time of Jesus, including the area of the altar of sacrifice and the "holy" (as opposed to Most Holy) place of the Temple (Bet ha Mikdosh) itself. I believe that the place of the Ark of the Covenant in the Most Holy, however, stands on the western steps leading up to the octagonal Dome structure...
Called by Daniel the "Abomination of Desolation" (loathsome thing), this structure was stated in Dan. 11 and 12 to stand until the indignation (wrath) of God against Israel for its sins was over, but that was to end in 1290 or 1335 years from the construction of same in 691. Thus, its fall is up in 1981 or in 2026, and I think the 1981 date referred to the finding of the Ark in that year...
Since in our liberal times, Westerners are called upon to accomodate every nuance of the sensiblilities of Muslims here in our homelands, perhaps Muslims in return would be willing to see this insult and injury to Judaism and Christianity removed and made away in our day. Perhaps it could be disassembled stone by stone and set up in Mecca, a city only Muslims are allowed to visit, and thus it could do less harm there.
Read about Elijah having a very public and theatrial showdown with the prophets of Baal as to whether he or YHWH was to be Israel's God! Dramatic, even thunderclaps, and a downpour of rain. Fire coming down from heaven and licking up everything and everybody. Who says religion must be boring. Talk about good guys vs bad guys, you ain't seen nothing yet! God says a Latter Rain is coming, and looks like you may be the one that gets wet, not me!
Yes, by all means, it is time there was a worldwide showdown between YHWH and Allah, as foretold continually in the Scriptures both Tanakh and New Covenant. The dates are even given.
"He that cometh to God, must believe that He exists, and that He IS A REWARDER of them that diligently seek Him."
BTW almost any Christian Arabs without criminal record, can qualify for admission to the USA asylum as an oppressed minority, whatever country in the Mideast, if any, might be willing to issue them a passport.
But don't forget, a Christian Arab still has a Christian soul! An Islamic Arab is completely different.
Sure have.
Often wondered though, does that also apply to Muslims?
I was pondering that last night as I was reading about the hundreds of years and dozens of Muslim "leaders" in Al-Andalus who routinely sent thousands of severed heads of Christians, Muslims and Berbers indiscriminately to each other, displayed severed heads on the front gates of their fortresses and generally lived as if the sword was their best friend.
Are you serious?
You have managed to miss the dozen or so long and detailed posts by both sides on the issue in the last year?
If you are serious, I am sure reposting can be arranged.
No. What I do notice is that the Arabs rejected it. So it never existed. The Arabs decided to "roll their own" and failed.
Something else I notice is the dramatic difference between the British Partition of 1946 and the "final" UN partition of 1947. How the Jews could even hope to survive in that gerrymandered "country" only the participants can answer.
The most significant however, is the double whammy the Jews suffered, first by the lion's share of Palestine in the creation of Muslim Jordan, and then the abortion they were expected to turn into a country, which the Arabs rejected anyway.
btw ... since it has been so long since something new and infuriating was built there, why can't Secularists tear it down and replace it with something guaranteed to anger nearly everybody, like... a WAL-MART ?
You're right, I should have emphacized "on paper"
How the Jews could even hope to survive in that gerrymandered "country" only the participants can answer.
None of the participants expected or wanted them to, including the British. The 46 map made some sense, then the UN got involved.
Some of the posters, here, suggest a level of hatred that reminds one of the Thirty Years War in Germany. It was not pretty, but it was justified on similar theological intolerance. While I certainly do not agree with the criticism of Judaic and Christian values, that some say are inscribed within the Muslem shrine, it was a belief that Judaism and Christianity had become corrupt that inspired some of the early Muslem firment. Answer their argument, by all means, but do not beg the question by hurling epithets back, against whatever isolated phrases you may quote out of context.
The terrorists today are fanatics. Fanatics are not limited to any one faith. As we root out this set of fanatics, and bring justice to them, let us not help recruit other fanatics by persecuting people who simply come from a similar religious background. The destruction of those Buddhas in Afganistan was an atrocity. So were some of the actions of Savonarola, who spoke no better for true Christianity than the Taliban do for Islam.
The idea of spitefully destroying someone else's ancient shrines, is no way to promote your own Faith; no way to honor God; and above all, since some of you feel the need to preach, no way to reach any of the unconverted and bring them to your Faith. Nothing could be more counter-productive. Some of you need to take a cold shower and stop and think.

But I have a question to ask you. When you stated that some people needed to take a cold shower was that directed at me, and if so, why?
