It all started innocently enough. After hearing Mike Moran tell Osama bin Laden he could kiss his royal Irish ass, I sat in front of the keyboard and did what I've done over 1100 times ---- whipped out a little song. The tune was a great Irish tune - WEARIN' O THE GREEN.
Vetnet has lurked for a few years and decided it was time to participate. He contacted me to let me know a producer was interested, maybe two producers. He made wonderful suggestions as we went through a re-write together on the phone. He did it all from there. He got together the singers, the engineer, and the studio. They recorded on Thursday, did some mixing on Friday, and I met him as he handed me a CD and tape today.
It was beyond all my expectations. The singers in Irish brogue were marvelous. Ladies and gentlemen, this is going to raise money for the rescue workers. With your help calling into radio stations and making requests, it could become the anthem of this war.
Vetnet, way to go, my new FReeper friend.
Despite the fact that the midi does not seem in sync a couple of times, in the studio it worked perfectly. "You'll pay the price" gets sqeezed in nicely, and "I'll" gets stretched out.
Mike Moran -- royal IA -- I'll send you FReepmail with my phone number if you want to hear it.
I am Irish and was proud to serve with other firemen
Who gave their lives for us that day, each one of them a friend
In remembrance of my brothers who from earthly bonds did pass
Osama, step right up and kiss my royal Irish ass
Theyre the bravest men Ive known
and I'll miss them everyday
I will keep them in my heart so they're never far away
In remembrance of my brothers who from earthly bonds did pass
Osama, step right up and kiss my royal Irish ass
You'll pay the price, but first youll kiss my royal Irish ass
Never thinking of their safety, only saving other lives
They never made it home to see their daughters, sons, or wives
In remembrance of my brothers who from earthly bonds did pass
Osama, step right up and kiss my royal Irish ass
Theyre the bravest men Ive known
and I'll miss them everyday
I will keep them in my heart so they're never far away
In remembrance of my brothers who from earthly bonds did pass
Osama, step right up and kiss my royal Irish ass
You'll pay the price, but first youll kiss my royal Irish ass
Try to take our freedom and you've made a big mistake
The spirit of America you're never going to break
In remembrance of my brothers who from earthly bonds did pass
Osama, step right up and kiss my royal Irish ass
Theyre the bravest men Ive known
and I'll miss them everyday
I will keep them in my heart so they're never far away
In remembrance of my brothers who from earthly bonds did pass
Osama, step right up and kiss my royal Irish ass
You'll pay the price, but first youll kiss my royal Irish ass
May God Bless his family.

My first name is mike . I have been a fireman for over 16 years. And was a police officer for a little less than 2 years before that. I was introduced to free republic by my brother John . He perished in the World trade center attack, and so was one of the first soldiers to fall in the war against terrorism . I never posted before 10 /28/ 2001 . I was glad to lurk and be directed to certain threads by John .I felt he would want me to pick up where he left off. Maybe I can do him Justice. " If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your council, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you.May your chains set lightly upon you; and may posterity forget ye were our countrymen." ~ SAMUAL ADAMS
(yours truly Mike Moran)
Since most of the singers who performed on this song have worked together before on some of our National Veterans Chamber of Commerce projects, we decided to call our little singing group, "The Chamber-Made Brigade"
Isn't that just a hoot?
