Shabazz is an ancient family name of some considerable clout in the Moslem world, I think somehow related to the Prophet Mohammed or something. It was picked up by Malcolm X as, evidently, his new family name when he decided to use something more than a single letter (Malcolm X's widow is Betty Shabazz, etc.) ... X adopted it, he wasn't really related to the Arabic Shabazz dynasty. Zulu here likewise adopted it, and for all I know he didn't even know its historical roots, he thought it would deceive people into thinking he was connected to the family of Malcolm X (who, I think, was dead before Zulu was born).

Thank you for the response. What I've heard is possibly a newphew or some such, but I agree that, more than likely, it was an attempt to connect himself, somehow, to Malcolm X's widow. Wasn't she burned to death by one of her kids?
