RICHMOND, Va. (AP) _ Democrat Mark Warner defeated Republican Mark Earley in a statewide mock gubernatorial election by 22,972 school children across Virginia, according to results released Thursday.

Warner got 11,833 votes, or 51.5 percent, compared with 9,509, or 41.4 percent, for Earley. Libertarian William Redpath pulled in 1,630, or 7.1 percent, in the balloting conducted via the Internet from Oct. 22 through Thursday.

A student mock election in Britain last year gave a big win to the Conservatives. We all know how close to reality that turned out to be.

Yep of course, Warner probably had the NEA "stuff" the internet ballot box, just like they hope to on Tuesday.

Oh BTW, before the Libertarians slobber over the Libertarians performance in this mock "internet" election, I remember in 1980 when I was sophomore in high school and we held our own mock election in our high school, Ed Clarke(Libertarian candidate in 1980) polled something like 10%. Most of the "votes" were "protests" but my vote for Ed Clarke was because he was for the legalisation of marijuana and I thought that was cool.

I guess you could say that I was a one issue voter back then. I have grown up since then.

Another interesting fact to find out is which high schools participated. I bet you the great majority of the "voters" are in the N.VA DC suburbs.

Why is Va. Democ. Lt. Gov. candidate Tim '"MR" ACLU' Kaine SoftonCriminals.com? Republican Activists: Last week, Bruce Eberle sent me an email (shown below) informing me of the >www.softoncriminals.com website (which redirects to website http://66.70.204.250/kaine.html) as well as about the www.millionsofamericans.com/home/kaine.cfm website. I have gone ahead and copied the information from the www.softoncriminals.com website below. [NOTE: SoftonCriminals.com is a streaming video type site for which you must have Flash installed in order to view the presentation. Also it reads an "SFW" type file which you need to have defined for either Netscape or Internet Explorer to open]. For those who may not have been aware of it, Also, in case you were not aware of it, Democratic Lt. Gov. candidate Kaine formerly was an ACLU lawyer. During the current campaign, he had done his best to avoid mentioning his work history with the ACLU in any of his campaign information/appearances. This is evidenced by the fact that, per my review of his website, I was unable to find any info. on it regarding his ACLU work history. If you check the info. under the "Service as a Lawyer" section of his biography info. (http://www.timkaine2001.com/allabout.html), you will see that it states he is "A nationally recognized civil rights lawyer.." but does not mention anything about the ACLU. This is information that must get out immediately to as many Virginia voters as possible. Thank you. Stephen Howard JMU7783@richmond.com ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Below Info. was copied from the "www.softoncriminals.com" website: +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Lem Tuggle got released early from prison after he murdered a 17-year-old >girl, Shirley Mullins. Four months later, Lem Tuggle struck again. He kidnapped, raped, sodomized, and killed Jesse Haven, a grandmother. Then he threw her body down the same embankment where he'd thrown his >earlier victim's body. Which candidate for Virginia Lieutenant Governor worked for free to get Lem Tuggle off on a technicality? Democrat Tim Kaine. No expensive graphics, no pictures intended to frighten you. Just the Truth: Why did Tim Kaine work for free to get Lem Tuggle off on a technicality? Why did Tim Kaine argue that Lem Tuggle should not be put to death because the murder of Jesse Haven was not an "aggravated murder"? Kaine claimed it was difficult to actually prove that she was raped. There was only conclusive evidence of sodomy and under Virginia law at the time sodomy wasn't rape. Victims rights, not criminal rights. Some people get it - and then there's Tim Kaine. Our friends at Politicalusa.com emailed me about a website that could change the way you view this race. It talks about how the Democrat candidate, Tim Kaine, tried to manipulate the legal system to free a twice convicted murderer. Please, make sure you visit the website today, and forward this email to all of your friends and family. I am supporting the Republican candidate, Jay Katzen, and I urge you to do the same. Jay Katzen is a conservative Republican. Tim Kaine is a liberal Democrat. Kaine claims to be tough on crime, but his record as a defense lawyer indicates otherwise. If you go to SoftonCriminals.com, you will see how Tim Kaine worked for free to acquit Lem Tuggle, a man who had murdered a 17 year old girl, and then 12 years later raped, sodmized and killed a 52 year old grandmother. At SoftOnCriminals.com, you'll see how Kaine manipulated the system in attempting to free Tuggle. This is a message that must get out before next Tuesday.
