CNN's Nic Robertson is reporting that Al Jazeera in Kabul received a letter from Usama bin Laden.

The letter states that the world has organized under two banners: the Christian banner headed by Bush, and the Islamic banner. The letter further states that Pakistan is now under the Christian banner.

Two things stand out:

1. Why was this a letter rather than a video tape? (Is he very sick, as some reports have said?)

2. This is an obvious signal to his supporters to attempt to overthrow the current government in Pakistan.

Some Jews may not like to hear this, and there may also be some Christians who may not like it, but to Islam, we're one and the same in our status as infidels. According to a frequently cited fragment of the Quran, Christians and Jews are "friends of one another other," but not of Islam. Sort of gives one a different perspective on the whole thing, doesn't it?

Evil men, in every time and in every civilization, take the Symbols of Faith, Salvation and Promise and subvert them to their ends. In some instances, they are so effective at this subversion, the custodians of the faith actually promote its utilization.
