"I didn't know if we had a terrorist."

This statement has always stunned me from the first time I read it. Had I been this airport security police officer’s boss, I would have fired him for not having stopped the vehicle with a blaze of firepower.

It may have been more prudent if the officer fired shots at the tires, rather than ramming himself against the car. But, I don't know what the protocol was/is for officers, especially given today's events with terrorists.

If I had been an editor with a shred of professional integrity, I would have covered this story on national television. Too bad neither of these scenarios happened.
