It says very clearly on the posting page "NO PERSONAL ATTACKS." Calling everyone on the thread a psycho, regardless of their position as they debate the issue, definitely fall into the category of personal attacks.

I guess it depends on your frame of reference. In this case, I would argue that it falls into the category of "accurate analysis."

Would you like to elaborate on this one?. Just how will this "war" be any different than any other war in application or results?. This is almost as big of a crock as the "we haven't declared war because of the insurance liabilities" excuse.

Hey, I'm a web surfer, I read, and this internet thing has lots of great maps and news articles. For the march on Kabul theory and the Turks, see article at this ol' thread of mine:

I must say that the Turkish english press on the web that I have seen afterward seems more to indicate a Turkish training of Afghan resistance fighters as the scope of Turkey's coming involvement, plus hosting of King Zahir conferences. But there aren't many english on-line sources. And I have noticed the main Turkish paper, Hurriyet, at my local store has been plastered with pictures of Kamal Ataturk! Whipping up the ol' pan-Turkism, methinks. Most northern Afghanis are Turkish.

Also, reading a lot of other papers in the region are talks of cooperation between Central Asian states and Turkey. The elite Pakistani press is full of commentaries talking about the new cooperation between the two countries, even mentioning that Pakistan will receive benefits in "Central Asia." I think the deal is we are going to open up the Central Asian oil fields, Turkey to help develop, Putin on board, OPEC in trouble.

I highly recommend reading the Paki, Indian, and Turkish press--it's full of interesting diplomatic backstage stories and less anthrax hysteria.

Suicide helicopter assault squads. A coulpe a dozen expendables like me, in an old chopper, fake crash in a defendable mountain position. Enough supplies to hold out just long enough to draw a large number taliban flies, then a sufficient number of FAE's to jellify us all.
