Ok, this is a free for all thread. Come in and take your best shots. I promise I won't delete it or get upset. Get it out of your systems and then we will see if we can solve the problems. There always several sides to any story and several possible solutions to any problem. I'd like to hear them all and I'd like to solve as many problems as we can and get this forum kicking socialist butt again instead of kicking each other. Whom are you kidding? Homosexuals, bisexuals, any other sexual minority, and anyone who is sympathetic toward them are all bashed continually, unapologetically, and in hundreds of threads every week -- even unto their titles. Did you read the information in question? Um...it was BIG, okay?? At least I thought it was.
And basically I was so excited to read it that I wasn't even thinking that MAYBE it shouldn't have come out just then. The moderator was pretty torn about pulling it too.
There is no place where such a broad range of knowledge exists and I know there are many FReepers who want to tap into it at times and FReepers are eager to help. I know if I were having some problem with my computer, or trying to remember a name or event, or "what ever happened about the Bob Barr incident at the airport?", or anything in the world, I would get the answer, and we trust people here.
Sometimes I look for a place in a thread where I can ask it and I do, but how neat it would be to go to a special running thread of Questions & Answers. I know that is not the purpose of FR, but what a fountain of knowledge dwells on this site.
For example, about a week ago there was a thread reporting that American troops had landed in Afghanistan, which report was attributed to "Iranian radio." This was two or three days before the raid the Pentagon acknowledged. The thread was pulled (with no explanation). How could that kind of post possibly be considered dangerous to US military interests?
This is a serious question, not a criticism.
Also, somebody should post a history of Free Republic. I think that would be fascinating.

Your question presumes that Arator did something which merited banishment. But all he ever did was dare to express his opinion, just as FReepers are now invited to do on this thread. He had neither the power nor the desire to force his opinions on others, nor did he demand that all must agree with him or be silenced and banned. He just wanted to be able to honestly express his opinions and participate in the give and take on this forum, just as you are doing now. Why should he be banished for doing so?
