I used to know some very anti-US Iranians, so anti-US they would burn the US flag on campus --wearing grocery bags over their heads. I know they hated Jews and they said even back then that the US would have to become Islamic one day because true peace would be achieved in a united Islamic world. I always thought it was just rhetoric because they were actually friendly and personable, I see that Persians haven't joined the Arabs in the terrorist acts so I like to think it was just rhetoric they were spewing and that they weren't really evil. It's interesting though they were the ones who told me that Arabs are very weird and backward, they didn't like them at all.

I knew Iranians in pilot training, at an Air Force base in Texas, in the 70s. You are right, they were all quite nice guys, but most were very much anti American. Weird huh? You are right, they did not seem to associate much with the Arab student pilots, but kept pretty much to themselves. They loved chasing the Mexican women there, however.
