Abstract
Hijackers who flew airliners into World Trade Center and Pentagon exploited immigration system that critics contend is riddled with loopholes and that is geared to ease the way for commerce, whether in form of tourism, business or study; experts on terrorism say security precautions often take back seat to pressure from industry, concerns of neighboring governments and even bureaucratic rivalries in US government; say sheer volume of daily border crossings--300 by land from Mexico alone--make exclusion of all foreign terrorists impossible; photo (M)
Five Israelis Held In New York |
October 25, 2001 Five young Israelis are "on the verge of collapse," according to family members, as their incarceration in New York on charges relating to the Bin Laden attacks continues. They were arrested on Sept. 11, only hours after the World Trade Center attack, on charges of "plotting to blow up" a New York bridge. |
Before Sept 11, I wasn't paying all that much attention to things in the US and I was slightly against Israel. I know the Arab Muslims are demanding a Palestinian homeland carved out of Israel ----and yet they allow Saddam Hussein to slaughter (by pouring chemicals on) thousands of Kurds who also want a homeland. What's the difference? Kurds are also Sunni Muslims but a homeland for them is not much supported by anyone in the Middle East. Arabs didn't seem to have too much grief over those burned babies of the Kurds when it was an Iraqi who did it.
There will be. There are still thousands of these scum bags around the world, and in most western countries, who are waiting. You don't think for one minute these dirt bags are finished do you? They may not attack us again for another 5 years, who knows, but they will attack again. The only good terrorist is a dead one. Don't forget that more people were killed in NY and Washington than at Pearl Harbor, and you know what we did to the country that did that. I am not into hysteria and don't advocate mass deportation, and I don't know how this should be handled, but being as we have real adults in the White House now, I hope they are considering all sorts of options, because these scum bag terrorists are not finished, they are just starting. Again, we are not discussing brain surgery here.
I don't think we should either, but I hope there are dirt bags like Saddam out in the world, who think we will make them glow in the dark. The threat of nuclear destruction can have a certain deterring affect on people like him. The India-Pakistan thing looks like it may heat up. Not good either, but hey, I know where I am going, and I think you do too. The only good terrorist is a dead one. Seems to me, we used to say the same thing about the commies. Oh well, there is little difference between them. (S)
