Ultra-right-wing organizations - including a particular West Coast group - have become a key focus of the massive federal investigation into the murderous Anthrax attacks, The Post has learned.
Investigators have been zeroing in on members of several anti-government hate groups that they believe have obtained or attempted to get the deadly bacteria from several U.S.-based laboratories before it surfaced in Florida, Washington and New York this month.

1) The militant left hates the Democrats as much, if not worse, than they hate the Republicans. Spend some time on their "Indy media" boards and this will become clear. (They also hate the media.)
2) The left media theory lost a bit of steam when it was sent to the Murdoch owned NY Post.
3) Apparently, the White House also was targetted, as the report yesterday of it turning up at an off-site mail handling facility demonstrated. Bush is not a Democrat.
4) If it is a domestic group, they would likely not have produced it themselves, but rather would have stolen it from a lab. A quick review of lab break ins in this country shows that most have been done by radical leftist animal rights and other groups, not by right wing groups.
5) The article posted above by me (from the NY Daily News) indicates that the chemical processing that was done on the spores to make it more likely to remain suspended in air points to state sponsored groups; removing electrostatic charges from the powder is not something easily done, and certainly not in the basement lab of some underground group.
I think you are misunderstanding the wager offer.
If it turns out not to be domestic, or if we never do find out, then the bet is off.
If it turns out to be domestic, then the bet is on. If it turns out to be a far right group, I would pay the 6. If it turns out to be a far left group, then you would pay the 6.
:-)
This article was clearly written by someone who is not totally familiar with the English language. If it was not bin Laden himself who wrote this, it was clearly someone sympathetic to the Taliban.
(I sure hope we don't discover that this is being done by an American group. If we do, it is high time to bring back public lynching.)
Seriously, you may be very right. In addition, we are seeing a lot of clues and releases from SOG that Iraq may be involved.
Too many sheeple are accustomed to 4 day wars. Already we see Comrade Biden talking about limiting the air war and others asking about a cesation during Ramadan. Does the name "Tet" ring a bell to those idiots? This may be a very long haul, and we may easilly decide to go to dial-a-yield.
Regarding taking it to fision, the operable question is; how many more Americans is it Ok to sacrifice so we don't use fisionable weapons.
Why would a right-wing send it's first attack to the enquirer? Better yet think for a moment, if it was a right-wing group, where do you think would be the best target? Media needs to hype down, and take a cipro, and not jump to conclusions. There is nothing they can do to destroy Bush's ratings, tooooooo baaaaaaaaad
I am so sure of my position, that I am willing to wager an entire six pack!
I better save up :-)
HOMEGROWN HATE GROUPS my butt......
Whoever did this should be purged from our society.
There are also no infections at the UN or CNN, likely right-wing targets I would think.
Question, what would our government do if we this was linked to China or Russia, we are not fully prepared to fight a major world war because of the Clinton draw-down but with those links policy would demand it.
The answer would be to find a domestic scapegoat and find a political solution in secret.
My fear all along has been that the ultimate power behind 9/11 and everything else has been China and we would have to fight a world war or find another scapegoat, UBL and Afghanistan fit perfectly. Not that I believe UBL's hands are clean, far from it, but that he is only the delivery boy and not the mastermind.
Some local nut got some from his , her live-in to settle scores with their own agenda to further their cause..
A terrorist would have distributed it in the subway, scattering terror helter-skelter...[And who did that crazy target years ago with his mesmerized followers.?]
This is the definitive argument against the 'right-wing' theory.
BTW, Northern New Jersey just 'got FOX' last week. Southern New Jersey and the Philadelphia area just started Foxnews THIS week. I would really like to know how many other major cities did not have access to Foxnews during the last election.
I wonder if Boca Raton is Fox deprived?
Thank you....Somebody explain why these groups are right wing? They're fascists who believe in a totalitarian system, which would supress certain groups....that isn't right wing, that's far left.
I would argue that anyone who uses coercive means to reach an end goal, is not interested nor respects individual freedoms.
I'll put my two cents in. I agree with the others that assert that there has been a concerted effort by our government and some of our allies from 9/11 to deflect attention away from Iraq and its almost certain involvement in that tragedy and the anthrax spread.
There's good purpose for that--one domino at a time. By keeping the focus on the renegade Bin Laden and Al Qaeda, we can keep our very loose alliance intact until our goal of demolishing the Taliban and Al Qaeda is accomplished, which would be a very large and important accomplishment on many fronts.
Then we can turn our attention to Iraq and other terrorists sponsoring countries, which will require a much longer and more protracted process of alliance building. It took Bush 41 almost a year to create the alliance we needed for the Gulf War. Bush 43 was able to cobble together an alliance to go after Bin Laden within weeks. It will take much, much longer to do so before attacking Iraq--which I believe is inevitable. Iraq may not even be next on the list, who knows?. One domino at a time--and you start with the most easily to topple first, then work your way down the line.
WIMPS By DEBORAH ORIN and BRIAN BLOMQUIST
WASHINGTON - Frightened members of the House of Representatives headed for the hills yesterday at the first sign of anthrax in the Capitol - drawing jeers from senators, public health officials and New Yorkers.....
Why do I distrust the Post's intentions?
