[history]
Anthrax anxiety spilled over into the gubernatorial campaign yesterday when a direct-mail piece by an organization allied with Democrat Mark R. Warner failed to contain a return address.
The blue envelope without a return address was mailed by Virginians for Warner to about 50,000 households associated with Republican women.

"In retrospect, I made a serious error in judgment," she wrote to Ford. This does not surprise me. All Democrats habitually make serious errors in judgment.
Chicklets Teeth Warner is NOT going to represent me, if I can help it.

Lora Lynn Jones, president of Marketing Services Inc. of Montross, said she decided to send the mailing without a return address before the postmaster general told the American public to treat such mail with suspicion. Besides bio-terrorists, the only people who refuse to use return addresses are those who want to sell something not worth buying . . . hmmmmmm . . . maybe they are telling Virginians something about Warner.

In the UK the only mail with a return address is commercial, practically never do you use a return address for personal mail.

The letter, over the signatures of Ford and Del. Anne G. "Panny" Rhodes, R-Richmond, asked people to support Warner and send money. Judy and Panny are just PO'd 'cause they're no longer relevant.
Thanks for the early morning chuckle.

How difficult is it to just cook up ANY old phony "return address" (like Joe Blow, 10 Skid Row, Kokomo, MO) and put on an envelope? And THAT makes the envelope safe to open? Are terrorists too dumb to "make up" a return address? Seems doubtful.

The envelopes addressed to Tom Brokaw and Tom Dashal both had return addresses.

Absolutly. He will not be representing me either.

Sen Dashle's letter had a return address of "4th grader..blah..blah"
A better precaution is to tell people to open mail you're expecting: known bills (or move to automated bill-paying); call, email or otherwise tell people to expect a letter from you re: personal mail. Ditch the rest.

Judy and Panny are traitors of the worst sort. They are in this for money, in the case of Judy, and personal spite, in the case of Panny, and nothing else. They have disgraced themselves and will forever live in infamey.

Dr. Larry Sabato was most compelling when he asked, " Mr. Warner, if I vote for you, tell me , WHICH MARK WARNER AM I VOTING FOR ? " Larry then went on to detail and document at least ten chameleon changes the Clintonista Mark Warner has made over the years. Essentially Larry Sabato pointed out that Mark Warner is a liar and a Clinton-hugging opportunist.....and just like Hillary in New York.....Mark Warner is NO VIRGINIAN. A vote for Mark Warner is a vote approving the Clinton corruption and leftist agenda of the past eight years.

Del. Anne G. "Panny" Rhodes
Virginia's very own Jim Jeffords.

At least one recipient placed the suspicious letter in a plastic envelope, inserted a knife into the envelope and sealed it and then wormed the knife around to open the letter. The recipient, Mark Staples, who lives in western Henrico County, said he thought briefly about calling 911. "I was really hot," he said.
LOL He's got to be a true blue conservative messing with Warner.
