Anthrax spurs Lott to seek adjournment of Congress

Senate Minority Leader Trent Lott yesterday called for Congress to adjourn rapidly as investigators verified an anthrax attack at the Capitol, part of a Senate building was closed and thousands were treated with antibiotics.
"There is a growing feeling that as soon as we can get our work done, that we should recess for the year," said Mr. Lott, Mississippi Republican.

I think Lott is being reasonable. Our chief executive has enough problems to deal with. Frankly, I'd like congress to be at home more. They can use 'teleconference' meetings to cast votes. It will make it hard for lobbiests. Good. It would get them away from the Patomic Swamp Fever. They would only need one house. They would not need as much of a salary. Their staffers would not be nothing but DC critters. All kinds of benefits. Let Capitol Hill move a large portion of its time to the Internet.
At the very least, allow each congress member the choice and option. More time with their constituents. Less time around the Potomac. I've been pondering this idea for years.

Lot never had any gonads, he has always sought the safe path of political expediency and compromise. At least we can see him for what he is an terms the average voter can understand.
