"School is not an open forum," the principal said. "It is a place for learning." . . . And POLITICALLY CORRECT learning, at that! (We only teach the approved tradition: Namely, that the Sainted North was right and the Wicked South was wrong.)

does this mean that all those who claim to be offended by the confederate flag must prove their ancestors were slaves????????

The only problem I see with this at all. Is that we (along with the "N" word) give these symbols too much power in and of themselves. Why can't we just leave it alone? If a kid wears a rebel flag on his shirt, arm etc. and is a polite citizen and acts no different than anyone else, then he should be treated no different than anyone else. You know, if the principal, just would have let them wear the shirts, without giving the people any special recognition, because of the shirts, then everything would be ok. Everybody's gotta have something to complain about, why can't we just leave it alone and get on with our lives?

So what's wrong with a Confederate flag graphic on a T-shirt? Whatever happened to pride in your country's history? Next the schools will attempt to ban the Stars & Stripes.
The people who take issue with displaying the Confederate flag only seek to make an issue out of a non-issue.

At a time when our country is at war, wearing Confederate flag imprinted shirts is divisive and in my opinion plain stupid. About on par with the school teacher in Wisconsin who considers saying the pledge 'jingoistic'. Two peas in a pod. We can get back to those satisfying disagreements over the Civil War after we've won this one.

What happened to diversity? Schools have created elaborate programs (copied from the Coporate PC crowd) to celebrate differences among students. I guess Southerners when celebrate their heritage, they become suspended.
If schools can teach holiday's like Kwanzaa and lies about the South (and U.S. History), my kid can wear a Battle Flag on his shirt.
God Bless Dixie [><]

...the principal said. "It is a place for learning." ...??!..."Learning"?! Did I miss something recently?! I thought schools were a place for dumbing down and indoctrination. When did this change?!

This merits a
lawsuit & that's all there is
to it.Where's the ACLU; someone find 'em & quick tell there's severe civil rights violations going on here.
