Is this legit? If so, these are the same people that would have sat on planes on 9/11 singing songs and flashing peace signs at the terrorists.
To: SJackson
These folks should post an inventory of valuables as well. Sheesh!

Far from naive passivity,But not VERY far.
One would laugh if it wasn't soooo sad.
Like sheep to the slaughter........and this one has a bell!

What a Clymer.
He might as well post a sign saying "Please don't hurt me, you bad, bad man!"
To: SJackson
To get the full effect of this plan, they need to create a master list of all such people and their addresses and publish it in the newspaper every week. Sort of like a "Things to do this Weekend" for crooks.
To: SJackson
This must be a hoax. The sign might as well say **Burglars and Rapists Welcome** if its true. The author might think its a good idea but the reality is that even the most liberal of us will not comply.
To: SJackson
"Im a peaceful person. I have no way to defend myself or protect my personal belongings. Peace, love and understanding!"
"...In other news, a man was robbed blind after posting a sign indicating his peaceful ways."

We, the members of the Wasatch Peace Team (WPT), think that this is a great idea. We firmly believe that we can not afford to rely on our rights alone to reduce the violence in our world; our hearts must join us in the task as well. We will hence post a sign on our residence similar in appearance to the house alarm signs which proliferate our neighborhoods. The difference is, our signs will say that our home is "protected by compassionate nonviolence." Whew! In their dillusional minds!
Anyone finding themselves stuck in a neighborhood posting touchy-feely signs like that may want to consider posting this one:
"Armed and Ready To Exercise My Second Amendment Right"
Then we'll see which method works...

A google search shows a connection with a lefty group called utah.indymedia.org.

I think this moron has taken one too many LSD trips. Security comes from having my .357 magnum close at hand, along with the knowledge and will to use it, if necessary.

Dear Mr Larsen, I want to commend you and your family for your stand against violence. I'm glad to know there are Americans thinking like you do still. I'm going to move to your neighborhood so we can share your stuff, ok ? I'll be there as soon as I get my Nikie's on and the next spaceship arrives.See you soon. Your friend, M-

The message which an uninvited guest delivers when they break into our home is that our social responsibilities need tending to. I'm sorry. I couldn't get past this statement. Did the article continue on in a similar vein, or did it veer suddenly back into reality a few lines later?

legal murder will not bring an end to the commonly shared disease of social irresponsibility that likely gave rise to the conflict in the first place Remove enough criminals from the population and the rest might get the message that the price is too high to prey on people who earn what they have.

our signs will say that our home is "protected by compassionate nonviolence. My sign says, "This home is protected by a gun three days a week, you guess which days."
To: SJackson
I think this is a great idea, I REALLY want to see these people start putting signs saying "protected by compassionate nonviolence" in their yards. The big question. Should we use our weapons to defend them when they start getting robbed continually? Hmmmmm.......
To: SJackson
Hey Giles Larson, I have a 44 that is loaded by my my bedside. I'll be blowing the brains out of the first burglar to invade my house because the court system may let the idiot off.......allowing for further crime. I will stop crime perpetrated against myself and my neighborhood. My neighbors are armed and have the same atitude I have.
When did Salt Lake City go totally stupid and allow an idiot like gikes move in and ruin the neighborhood? Is he a California transplant who is unaware of how the west was settled? Giles, when you get robbed - you deserved it; not because I support crime - but because you invited robbery with your lunacy.
