Sarah Brady: Tighter Gun Laws Needed to Prevent Terrorism and
Strengthen National Security

WASHINGTON, Oct. 12 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Sarah Brady, chair of the
Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, today issued the following
statement regarding the U.S. Senate's passage last night of
anti-terrorism legislation.
"With passage of this legislation, the Senate has taken a
significant step toward ensuring that law enforcement has the tools
needed to investigate and deter terrorist attacks. But there is
one glaring omission - nothing in this bill will close the gaps in
our federal firearm laws that allow terrorists to amass their
deadly arsenals. The House should address this failure when it
takes up the legislation today.
"We know from recent terrorism investigations that these
dangerous criminals will exploit any opening in our laws to buy
weapons, including firearms. In some cases, they have gone to gun
shows and bought firearms and ammunition from unlicensed sellers
who were not required to conduct criminal background checks.
"Incredibly, our soldiers could be gunned down by foreign
terrorists armed with firearms purchased at American gun shows. We
can, and must, close loopholes in our firearm laws by requiring a
background check every time a firearm is sold. A criminal
background check is a minor inconvenience for gun buyers -- most
are completed within minutes -- but is a key tool for protecting
public safety. We must also ensure that there are records of all
firearm sales so that law enforcement officials can track
terrorists, trace their weapons, and know what threats they are
facing when they attempt to apprehend these criminals.
"Any anti-terrorism proposal that fails to address easy access
to firearms and retention of records is clearly inadequate. If we
need more careful screening of people entering our country, surely
we need to check the background of people buying guns once they are
here. And it makes no sense to crack down on terrorists laundering
money, if we allow them to use their cash to buy weapons with
impunity. The Congress and the Administration should work together
to make this counter-terrorism package more comprehensive."
Sure Sarah, these foreign nationals are coming over, attending gun shows, buying weapons one or two rifles at a time, shipping them back to their country and arming their troops to engage our military. Lady, you better get back on your medication...FAST!
>>>What a marooooon.(I'll second that. Definitely a Moe Ron.)<<<
Sarah Brady is the wife of some Press Secretary that was rendered vegitative during the Reagan Assasination attempt.
She's now on a crusade to hold us all responsible for the actions of some lunatic who, because of a twisted legel system, was not executed for attempting to kill the President.
Stop the ride! I wanna get off.

Right. It will keep people from taking over airplanes and running them into buildings or spraying bacteria into the air.
No government idiot is going to take my guns from me. If they don't know I have them, then won't be so anxious about it. I'll have them when they are necessary, and that's all that counts. When I need them, it will be to protect and defend people like you, Sarah. What will you say then??
Ironically, it is quite easy for any person to obtain an AK-47 in many third world countries. They don't need to attend US gun shows, where they could only get a semi-auto version. Fully automatic AK-47s have proliferated throughout the third world, as they are cheap and easy to make. Obviously she didn't bother checking the facts concerning her statements.
As far as OTHER types of weapons that the Afghanis may have obtained from US sources, gee, I wonder where the Afghanis got their Stinger missiles from? If Sarah Brady thinks that they must have attended a gun show here in America so that they can purchase those Stinger missiles, she may be right. It was a gun show in Washington DC put on by the US Government just for them. And they didn't even have to pay for those missiles, they were given to them free courtesy of US taxpayers.
As far as terrorism is concerned, she must have forgotten to ask for background checks at all stores that sell box cutters, as that was the weapon of choice for those who destroyed the World Trade Center.
We are at war. We are at risk. We are in a fight for our future, Liberty and Freedom.
Normal is pursuing happiness and exercising our rights including the Second Amendment.
Normal is protecting our families and our property from harm.
Normal is not Sarah Brady.
The real 'weapon' the terrorists had was the liberal 'give hijackers that they want' philosophy embraced by the passengers and crew of three of those flights. Fortunately, that weapon has been completely and utterly destroyed, hopefully forever.
Regards....Chuck
This came right from both parties, and nary a protest was whimpered from the Gun Lobby.
They are always ready to swoop down on any tragedy and convert human misery into support for their half-baked political ideas.
I just HATE that bitch Brady!!!
