Cesium 137 is radioactive Cesium. You may remember it as the major fallout isotope from the Chernobyl nuclear accident. It isn't very useful for making a nuclear weapon but could be used for dispersion in a dirty bomb.

Not quite the proper analogy, but you're thinking correctly. The anthrax attacks are akin to the left jab of a boxer, done to keep his opponent off-balance, and to set up for the massive, telling blow from the other direction. This "dirty bomb" may well be it, or God forbid, even a real fissile nuclear weapon, which I am not convinced that Al-Qaeda has no access to...

Excuse me, but the ALREADY HAVE USED WMD's in America. And the bleeding hearts were out in force trying to get us to surrender before we even fired a shot back in self defense. The effect of the WTC is estimated to be anywhere from 0.2 kilotons, to 1.0 kiloton, depending on the source. That's anywhere from eight to fifty semi trucks full of TNT. Each building weighed approximately 1 BILLLION POUNDS, and fell from zero to 1300 feet to the ground, developing quite a significant amount of energy. The only thing that kept the body count down was the fact that people had a half hour to evacuate. A true 1kt device would have taken out anywhere from six to ten times as many people. IMHO, if they had one, they would have used it. Then we'd be looking at 50,000 dead.

It's clear they mean business. And the real question is, just who among our potential nation-state enemies are behind the terrorist cells, and who are not. And whether our ideological enemies have been successful in undermining our resolve throught their dupes in the media and in the institutions of education here at home. THAT'S the question that will determine whether we survive as a nation, or fall into the chaos they have planned for us.
