I realized the "UN" problem when I read your first reply.

I read the original article the same way you did at first...I just wasn't ready to accept anything written in an Indian newspaper without some other sorce to confirm it. Then xml772e2 pointed out the facts...it's about removing the visa exemption for some nations.

Like right now you can travel to England without a visa, and they can visit they U.S. likewise. If this agreement were lifted, you would have to apply for a visa BEFORE you could visit England.

Another area I hope that they consider is Merchant Seaman. Right now there are international agreements that pretty much allow Merchant Seamen to come and go as they need, using their Merchant Seaman's documents in lieu of a passport. You don't even want to know how many Merchant Seamen there are of Arab extraction.

Good call on the merchant seamen. And I understand where you're coming from on the visa thing between nations like GB and us. I do think it's time we look at everything that involves the flow between nations in light of recent revelations. Thanks for the comments.
