Shut up, Mr. Clinton!
© 2001 WorldNetDaily.com
Did you hear Bill Clinton tell everyone the other day that his administration managed to thwart some 15 separate terrorist attacks? Well, gee whiz, Mr. Clinton, what do you want a medal or a chest to pin it on?
Imagine you're an ex-president even a good one. Why would you tell the nation in the wake of our worst terrorist attack ever that your administration happened to thwart a few attacks? What's the purpose of doing that?
Why would you say such a thing, especially knowing that millions of Americans are aware of your poor national security record a record that consisted of multiple attacks against U.S. assets at home and abroad as well as the theft of our nation's most important national security secrets?
Why would you bring this kind of attention on yourself, knowing that the people remember that you appointed shoddy national security "experts" and "advisers" none of whom were held to account for losing our national secrets?
Whether it is Clinton's insatiable need to be in the limelight or his habitual convenient amnesia about his administration's awful national security record, the fact is, his comments earlier this week were about as appropriate as breaking wind during a wedding.
Worse, they don't add to the debate about how to make our country safer, how to better protect our people against attacks that most real experts believe are still on the horizon and how to interdict terrorist organizations around the world in our war against terrorism.
In other words, Clinton was doing little else except patting himself on the back, oblivious to the fact that his self-congratulation is misguided.
What unbelievable hubris. What incredible arrogance. What a short memory.
As long as Bill Clinton is alive, Americans are going to have to endure his playing Monday-morning president. His ego won't let him be anything but a bothersome publicity hound.
That is, unless we ignore him and punish the media moguls who bother to pay him heed.
There is nothing new that Bill Clinton can add to the national-security debate or a hundred other issues. There is nothing of substance that he can offer now because he offered little of substance when his opinion actually counted for something.
So, if we're going to be a nation free of the arrogant presumption Bill Clinton still holds he thinks we really care what he has to say we're going to have to collectively turn away from him.
Allow me to be the first to say, "Shut up, Mr. Clinton. We don't have to listen anymore."

Wish I could BUMP it all night.
"LEGACY BUILDING"
Clinton is like that guy you see with a broom and a dustpan, following a horse in a parade....The horse is named "Legacy" and he's got the runs.
Yea, kinda like the medal given to the cowardly lion in the Wizard of Oz, except that the lion was FAR BETTER a character than bill clinton.
Clinton AIN'T leavin'!!!
*APPLAUSE*
During his 'reign', Clinton just played to his voter base. The theatrics, the quivering chin/lips all gave comfort to the hordes of his enablers/apologists.So, if we're going to be a nation free of the arrogant presumption Bill Clinton still holds he thinks we really care what he has to say we're going to have to collectively turn away from him.Perhaps, Clinton can embark on another of his apology tours. He did it so well in Africa, Vietnam, China, Mexico, Central America and Middle East. But this time the apologies would be for emboldening the terrrorists with his perfuntory actions in the 1993 WTC bombings. Apologies for enabling the terrorists to perceive the American nation as being without a backbone in regards to the Somolia fiasco, 1998 Embassy bombings, the Saudi AF dormitory explosions. Apologies for the pardoning of the 14 FALN (Puerto Rican) terrorists and the absence of action for the USS Cole tragedy. Clinton built up the terrorists' bravado with his inactions, his dereliction of duty.
But, But...the media feels he has something worthwhile to utter. The media still gives homage to that greatest of DNC fund raisers.Ahhhh..... Shut up, Mr.Clinton...if only it were that easy.Ahhhhh...the Clintons, JUST HAVE to be the bride at every wedding...the corpse at every funeral
Clue for you, Mr. Clinton, since you haven't got one:
We have a Real President now. You were a pothole on the freeway of history. Buh-bye!
I heard and saw him say it. It was on C-SPAN2 a couple of nights ago from the Kennedy Center. I got to the point where Carville came out to throw him a few softballs and had to leave to go heeve.
What x42 is trying to say is, "At least I didn't let the terrorists do this on my watch." But, just as he didn't have the ability to rally the nation on his watch, he doesn't have the guts to say, straight up, what he so desperately wants to say. He knows that even the few friends he has left would shout him down if he did that.
