Would you take up arms alonside me, and defend the Constitution (that is to say, our nation) against those who would institute "far more draconian measures" against American citizens?
With so many warnings, and so much war-like rhetoric, you never know which threat to take seriously, even when the information is very specific as to time and place.
That said, even if the current spate of warnings from the FBI are dead on, I don't think that they (or any other LE agency) can protect us. There are simply not enough LEO's to go around. This is why I am very angry and frustrated that the citizenry is not being engaged to assist in guarding our nations assets. We are being treated like children with the govt saying that only they can protect us.
If ever there was a crystal clear example of what happens when you turn over your personal defense to the govt, Sept. 11 should have erased all doubts. The various govt agencies that we rely on were totally inadequate to stop the worst terrorist action on our soil ever. Over 5000 citizens paid for that inadequacy with their lives.
It's time to wake up America. Each of us is responsible for our own protection and the protection of our loved ones. It's time to tell the govt that we will no longer submit ourselves to dis-armament, dis-placement, and dis-information. I's time to tell the govt, in no uncertain terms, that they work for us, and we will ignore the un-Constitutional laws that are used to control us, and place us at the mercy of outside forces. The only thing the govt has ever accomplished came after the fact...after our citizens are dead or maimed. The govt claims to have thwarted many other attacks, but I have never been provided with any proof. The govt claims that proof of such things is classified. This from a bunch of documented liars.
I've had enough, how about you?
I took the oath four times.
The way I see it, there is a lot more than just lives at stake. Our whole way of life, our belief system and our liberty are at risk.
It seems to me that the only prudent thing to do is to close our borders, deport all non-US citizen muslims and closely watch those that are citizens. I cannot advocate rounding up US citizens to put them in concentration camps. Better to keep an eye on them without interfering with thier lives and let law enforcement and the courts deal with them if they cross the line. Sedition and treason are crimes.
I doubt it. The handful of DC universities are much more closely watched than the word ont the street of the New York megalopolis. Any sleeper savvy enough to be in a DC-area University is likely to stay asleep until and when he needs to "wake up."
But these suitcase nukes are a figment of your terrified imagination, and the trail DOESN'T lead through the Moslem Arab community. Why should the rest of us cater to your hysteria by oppressing American citizens?
The same can be said about mosques and islamic centers in Brooklyn and New Jersey.
You are living in denial, which is very sad.
And just because the butchers were living in close proximity with others, it doesn't mean the others were in on it, let far alone the entire community. Did you blame white people for harboring Richard Speck, Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacey or Arthur Shawcross? Were New York Jews to blame for David Berkowitz? (I'll bet you did blame the homos for Andrew Cunanan, however.)
Note the big "IF".
Frankly, your straw man arguments are growing wearisome. You're the only one here talking about a general action or internment against American Citizens, whatever their ethnic heritage.
There is NO Consitutional provision requiring us to allow Arab non-citizens to remain in America. None.
We have a fifth column of sleeper terrorists in this country, they are hiding in plain sight, and they are overwhelmingly Arab. Do you deny that?
And if not, then what do you propose to do about it?
Personally, the prospect of seeing our major cities nuked to dust is less frightening and disgusting to me than the prospect of concentration camps holding American citizens on American soil. In the first case, the country may or may not survive in some fashion. In the second case, the country--my country, embodied by the Constitution--is already dead. And even those camps wouldn't stop the nukes in any case.
Bull$#!t. Four "Freepers" (and I put that in quotes because I'd prefer that the site not be associated with these people) that I've denounced have called explicitly for the internment of Arab and Muslim American citizens. Many more (such as we see on this thread) have hinted at it. One fellow who called for internment actually threatened me with violence after I pointed out what an un-American coward he was.
What can I add to that?
It's a good thing that Hitler did not have the idea of sending over SS and Luftwaffe "students" in the 1930s, you would have given them directions on their way to their targets.
There is a fifth column of Arabic non-citizens in this country. What do you propose we do about them?
