"Osama bin Ladin."

Apparently so...seems like much longer than two months ago, doesn't it?!

FReegards...MUD

We were on vacation until yesterday, but after reading this thread, I remember my hands shaking as I wrote that, and thinking, "bin Laden came back to finish what he started in 1993." I even remember a few skeptics when I named bin Laden on another thread on 9/11. But in my gut, I knew who did it. Reading this thread brought back all the fear, the terror, the tears--and the anger, the cold hard anger, I felt then and what I feel now.

Was this off my mind as we vacationed in Florida? Hardly. The tee shirts we ordered in advance of our sailing conference had a big American flag on the back as a memorial to the victims of 9/11 and a buck from every sale when to a charity for the victims and their families. We remembered those Seven Sea'ers lost in the WTC/Pentagon/Pennsylvania hijacking. And even though we rarely watched TV (and I didn't have internet access--it was a REAL vacation), I kept up with the news about the war and the investigations. Every time I saw a Florida flight school advertising for students, my jaw clenched. But I was heartened by the number of American flags flying and how we have not forgotten--or ever will.

"Spreading FoxNewsChannel's force out is a good idea. I would love to see FNC become hosted and anchored from Los Angeles for some of the night shift. They could develop a unique style where as the prime time shifts across our nation (or morning drive time shifts), they could roll the anchor desk from one time zone to the next. Imagine if a Hawaii based anchor team anchored a report at 9PM Hawaii Standard. That equals about 3 AM or 4 AM in NYC/DC. >{Spreading FoxNewsChannel's force out is a good idea. I would love to see FNC become hosted and anchored from Los Angeles for some of the night shift. Basically, as the Honolulu evening anchors signed off at the equivalent of their 10 PM, the NYC guys could pick up again at 4 AM for the pre-open coverage."

Interesting concept, my FRiend...MUD

BTW...as we strive to Devolve Power from the Federal Leviathan back to the States, Localities, Neighborhoods and Individuals, we should be able to find allies in the local news organizations--be they CBS, ABC, or NBC affiliates--who are probably chaffing over the Top Down, One-Size-Fits-All Approach to News Mandated by the Major Networks. If Fox could tap into that energy, its Stock Price would jump briskly, IMHO.

I told one of the people we met at the sailing conference that my emotions about 9/11 range from "really pissed" to "nuke 'em," depending on the day, if the Taliban/al Qaeda/bleeding heart mush-brained liberal does or says something truly stupid--or if I think about BCM, Barbara Olson and the others who were murdered by the terrorists, their families and friends who will have an empty place on this Thanksgiving and all of those empty places and empty hearts for decades to come. I rarely cry anymore, but from time to time, the tears are just below the surface--when I read this thread, remembering the shock and horror, when I think about all of those who died in those stupid senseless acts, when I think about those who are defending our nation and in harm's way...and I get angry all over again.

I wish I had been wrong about bin Laden. I wish we could go back to 9/10. I wish that bin Laden and al Qaeda and all those who help them and support them are crushed, destroyed, and that they know the grief, fear and anger we feel--and to cry over a lost son, daughter, husband, wife, brother, sister, friend, as we did and still do.

Life is getting back to normal, but nothing will ever be the same again.

I just re-read the entire thread an got tears in my eyes. I vote the 9-11 threads are permanently archived and bumped every month so we will NEVER FORGET. Does anyone have a link to the very first thread posted for the first plane attack?

Defending the INDEFENSIBLE

Almost makes me wonder if there isn't anything that is so awful that it will not be defended...

How quickly we forget, ignore, bury...life goes on...

But so must we!

LOL,LGE

Uncanny, I was just rereading this thread and preparing to bump when you beat me to it.

A post above said it all: "I vote the 9-11 threads are permanently archived and bumped every month so we will NEVER FORGET."

The president reminded us last night, and let's not forget why we need to keep fighting.
