I get chills everytime I read the remarks and reactions of those who were here on Free Republic as the day unfolded. Watching that video brought tears to my eyes. The feelings of shock and terror over what happened that day are still alive within me and were brought out as I watched the photos of people who had decided that a suicide jump from 100 floors was better than the alternative. Hundreds of heros were lost that day after saving over thirty thousand lives. Men and women lost loved ones, and children lost parents. Time may heal all wounds, but it doesn't take the sting and the horror out the events of 9-11.
This should be required reading/viewing material for everyone.
I was not able to visit with FR that week. Felicity and I were on the first day of our honeymoon on 9/11. I had not taken a computer, and had promised her I wouldn't go near the Internet. Then we saw what was on the TV.
When the second plane hit, I said to her, "This means war." She agreed. She also agreed that my Internet promise no longer applied. Before we could get any plane to come home, with her editing I had posted two articles, one of them on "The Law of War."
Of course, I still owe her another honeymoon that does not involve the Internet.
I did miss my friends on FreeRepublic, that terrible week.
