Modern communication technology has helped make the Popes death an unparalleled event. The entire world has literally come together to praise this one man. I find that many sense that there will be some important and climactic consequences to follow the death of this Pope.
As I studied the many Bible prophecies of the Last Days, I found a most unusual extra-Biblical prophecy made by an Irish Catholic Bishop in the 12th Century. His name is St. Malachy. According to his biographer St. Bernard of Clairvaux, in his book Life of Saint Malachy, St. Malachy was known to have the gift of prophesy and even predicted the exact day and hour of his own death. St. Malachy was canonized in 1190 by Pope Clement III.
According to his biographer, St. Malachy was visiting Rome in 1139 when he went into a trance and received a vision. Malachy wrote down this extraordinary vision in which he claims to have foreseen all of the Popes from the death of Innocent II until the destruction of the Church and the Return of Christ. He named exactly 112 Popes from that time until the end.
St. Malachy wrote a few prophetically descriptive words in Latin about each one of the Popes. He then gave the manuscript to Pope Innocent II and it was deposited in the Vatican Archives where it was forgotten for several centuries. Then in 1590, it was rediscovered and published.
The interesting thing is that scholars have matched the brief 110 descriptive predictions with each of the 110 Popes and anti-Popes that there have been since Innocent II. Though they are a bit obscure, they have fit the general profile of each of the Popes.
Now these are in no way the same kind of predictions we find in the Bible....

True St. Malachy may not be prophecy but Hal Lindsey is great and if he's right and you're all wrong....well, time will tell won't it. I personally love him. Does that make me bad? Nevermind no need to upset my lovely day. Let me live in a delusional world. thanks. BTW, you guys are awfully tough on a man of God aren't you?
"St. Malachy's Alleged Prophecy: Did He Predict The Last Sequence Of Popes?"
Answ: NO.
"Looks like Hal has done his research."
Looks like another modern-day Nostryl.
Men of God do not make false prophecies.. In the Old Covenant, false prophets were stoned. In the New, they should be ostracized.
Go to a library, and get Late Great Planet Earth. See how, because of his expertise as a Bible teacher, he thought in the 1970's the Soviet Union would ally with Libya, swoop in, take over Israel, and get their butts handed to them. When Y2K happened, he was at the fore of the "end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it" types. Both were grand fizzles. After either, he should have quietly stepped aside, never to speculate prophetically again.
If you want to listen to a riverboat pilot without a college degree, be my guest. He doesn't have the expertise in Biblical exegesis to know what he's talking about. But understand, those of us who know anything about historical theology only snicker when presented with Hal Lindsey's attempts to peddle his scaremongering.
"I guess Hal was mis -informed then, wouldn't you say?"
No, this guy is not misinformed, he, and people like him, are dishonest in that they intentionally misleads people so they can sell his videos, books and various assorted trashy parapernalia.
"Now all these sites say the same thing, so if you could give us a site that says something different, then you can back up you claim."
If fifty million people say a foolish thing, it's still a foolish thing.
I see you're not well informed. I'm not gonna do the search for you. If you wish to know more, do the search yourself.
Not surprising really. Hal Lindsey is a sophist, and will try to sell most anything. After all, he has his third, younger wife to keep in style, as well as the other first two.
As you have demised, I am no Hal Lindsey fan. Not even close.
His eschatology has already been proven false. Jesus was supposed to return in 1981 according to him. He's a false prophet. Then he just keeps changing the date, and people are stupid enough to buy the books.
We are in the 'end times' ever since Jesus left us. There are no unfulfilled prophecies. We are to be ready for His Second Coming at any time.
Scripture says we are to avoid false prophets.
Well said.
WEll, we will respectfully disagree then. I think Hal only speculates on what he thinks MIGHT happen. He doesn't say something for sure will definitly happen. IMHO..I read his book and get his Prophecy Updates daily and I don't take anything anyone says along these lines as definite. But there is no reason to bash him. One thing about Prophecy...it either will or will not happen. But the Bible says there is a crown ready for those who look for the return of the Lord. Hey I can use all the help I can get.
But as long as Lindsey can keep changing the predictions, he keeps the hook set and the books rolling off the press to a duped audience.
No one is scoffing or mocking God's Word, or the Return of Christ.
We scoff at Hal Lindsey's scriptorture, eisegesis and failed "oracles".
"No, this guy is not misinformed, he, and people like him, are dishonest in that they intentionally misleads people so they can sell his videos, books and various assorted trashy parapernalia"
In reality, things have been "going downhill" since the 60's, but then the table was set for the 60's in the 50's, which the table was set for the decline in the 50's way back in the early 20th century with the rise of Darwinism, eugenics, new age concepts such as Theosophy, etc.
The Malachy prophecies are old news. Anyone who can do a google search can find it in 5 seconds, like I did 9 years ago.
Hal has to update his prophecies daily, that's how often they change.
While the entire Christian world mourns the Pope's passing, Lindsey further clarifies his anti-Catholic bigotry.
I first read them like 15 years ago.
Re-read and analyzed them. Bunk.
Fair enough. You have a right to your opinions...Have a great night...btw, what does your name mean?
"Lindsey further clarifies his anti-Catholic bigotry."
Right you are. All the while selling books and enriching himself. He should go find himself a real job instead of bilking the uninformeds and naives.
I've read all of the papal prophecies by Malachy and he didn't predict anything.
The author of this drivel is another charlatan, like all the rest.

Enough said.
I think it means, "your will be done."
