UPDATE from Saturday post
Just spoke with the MSO Portland
"Brian I have another exam scheduled your way
on Wednesday.

From there I wiil go to Coos Bay and do the AVENGER, then I will head home."
I'll do both inspections with him.
Port Orford is 25 miles South of me.
Coos Bay (Charleston) is 27 miles North.

I spoke with the Marine Safety Officer (MSO) in Portland today.
He's coming down Wed for a commercial vessel inspection.
I'll be the one doing it while he "observes" me.
If all goes well this will be my 3rd inspection
AND he'll recommend me himself as a certified commercial vessel inspector.
I am a qualified as a recreational vessel inspector,
along with many in the Auxiliary.
As far as I can tell I'll be the 1st Auxiliary member,
in Oregon,
to be currently Coast Guard certified
for commercial (up to 100') vessels.
Any thing over 100' or 100 tons MUST be done by the MSO only.
Wish me luck!
PS Looks like a weekend of study.
Good luck. But we know you'll ace it.
This sounds super, Tonkin!
Wishing you understanding and peace
while the deep studying continues!
I know you'll do fine!
Good luck to you!
Best Wishes for the upcoming MSO inspection, Tonk.
Tonk, hope you have success getting the truck going. You Need that truck!!
