thought this was a joke at first. No, as far as I know the only joke is the one I made about the smoker's suggested solution by combining the three "specialty" beaches into one.

"I thought this was a joke at first. From the left coast...." Back when some loony first proposed it in 1986, it WAS ridiculed as a nutcase idea. Some idiot wanted all of Del Mar to be smokefree outside, including beaches.
The nazis have really taken over out there.
