This is just crazy! Good luck to this tavern owner. I can't imagine a tavern being in business without smoking!
They are not alone. Maine forced the restaurants to go smoke-free in 1999. Then, the 1st of January of this year they forced the bars/taverns and sports clubs to go smoke free. I haven't been out to eat since then.

How the government can tell private business how to run their business is beyond me. Better yet, that private business owners roll over for it is even further beyond me. Where is our Boston Tea Party???

Hi Shelion and Freepers,
I live about a half mile from that bar. This is an industrial working class town. We are not lawyers. The rich people around here want all the working class people to stop smoking. They do not want to stop. So they are doing these things. What a goal to desire to achieve. Where do you want to put your money if you were betting on this. I have a URL on a related article.
