I agree with you, it's too bad the surgeon general doesn't jusr ban tobacco altogether, the "pull the band-aid off quickly rather than slowly" and we'll all be done with this highly poisonous substance.

My brother's asthma is now so bad he had to be put on steroids to breathe. Three of the five children in our family have asthma, the direct result of smoking parents.

Suggestion: Go to the zoo. Put a long pipe into the lion's cage and pump in tobacco smoke. See how many minutes it takes to be arrested. Make it a she-lion.

Oh, the injustice of it all!

Where on earth do these people get the statistics that says working in a smoky place for a period of time is equivalent to smoking a pack and a half a day.

How long is the shift? 6 hours? 40 hours? 100 hours?

Do they just pull these statistics out of a hat and why aren't they challenged?

While the bill would ban smoking in places such as restaurants, an amendment granted an exemption for free-standing bars that get at least 80 percent of their business from drink sales.

LOL, seems to me they are rewarding heavy drinking.

There are so many deaths and disabilities associated with second-hand smoke. We teach our children not to smoke and 80 percent of them work in high school and are working in smoke-filled restaurants that's equivalent to smoking a pack-and-a-half of cigarettes a day," said Sen. Don Thomas, R-Dalton.

And here are the same good old lies again.

Private property no longer exists!

Vote Kerry, let's take the plunge and just declare the Republic dead. Let's just admit that we are a socialist country!
