Twas the night before Bedlam and all through the house,

not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.

The crimson and cream were hung by the front door with care

in hopes a Sooner victory soon would be there. 

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,

Boomer Sooner sprang from his bed to see what was the matter.

Away to his front door he flew like a flash,

tore open the dead bolt, threw open the latch.

 

And what to his wondering eyes did appear,

but two small trick or treaters with their eyes full of cheer.

This first one wore 7, and other 82.

They were dressed in bright orange right down to their shoes.

 

They took Boomer's candy and fled out of sight.

They stole OU's ranking with OSU might.

Boomer woke from his nightmare, oh what a fright.

It was just a bad dream on Halloween, Right? 

The next morning Boomer was up with a bound.

He dresses up in Crimson and drove across town.

He got to the stadium, electricity in the air.
The Sooner and Cowboys, BEDLAM WAS THERE!!!

 

More rapid than eagles, the Cowboys they came,

as Les shouted on Tatum, on Rashaun we're winning the game!

And so up on the scoreboard the points all flew.
The Cowboys too many and Sooners too few. 

The game was all over in a flash of an eye,

poor Sooners didn't know that our Tatum could fly.

Second leading rusher going into the game,
leading Heisman candidate when out he came. 

Poor Boomer went home with his head hung low.

His pride and his spirit broken for the third year in a row.

The promise of OU's defense of fright

had gasped and sputtered like Boomer's dream on Halloween night. 

 

 For all of you Sooners with championship dreams

remember Boomer's nightmare, remember his screams.

It was the same thing that happened in '01 and '02.
Twas the night after Bedlam and the Sooners were all through!!!!

I graduated from OSU (Oklahoma State Univ.) and it is the COWBOYS and we play OU (Univ of Okla) Sat. OU is number one in the nation right now but not for much longer, We beat them in 2001 and 2002. Okla State hopes to make it three in a row! No Buckeyes at Okla. State!!!! sorry!!!!

Our mascot is Pistol Pete! Not a big eye!

Sorry to inform you but Okla State is the COWBOYS not some big buggy eyeball. And we plan to beat #1 ranked OU this Sat., three years in a row!

So sorry you are wrong, OSU stands for OSU which is in Oklahoma NOT Ohio. Oklahoma State University. You don't get out of the state much, do you? The national champs right now are OU and OSU will beat them Sat. in Norman Ok. for the third year in a row.

THANK YOU MAGNOLIA! You must be one of the only intelligent Freepers today. Some of them have ONLY heard of Ohio State and have never heard of Oklahoma State in Univ. of Okla, even though OU Is rated number one in the nation in football and OSU beat them the past two years. WE HATE OU! with a passion!

1973 BS Education Art and Spanish, double major. Paid my own way and repaid all my student loans. I know, that puts me in a true minority. My kids used to say, but you ONLY got a degree in art and Spanish. Not in Engineering, etc. So I challenged all three of them to go to any univ. and get any double major in four years while paying their own way. They all passed on that. Now they wonder how I did it, and so do I.

I know it is a nut. I was being MEAN. sorry! I am in the football spirit of meaness that hits us when it is the OSU vs OU bedlam game. Blood makes the grass grow, KILL KILL KILL~

MOST OU fans that I know never even went to college. Like all of my Okie family members, have never even been to the OU campus. They are rabid fans, too. I don't understand it at all.

I met Bud Wilkinson. There was some kind of drawing for a basketball and my older sister won, so we got to meet him and have our photo taken with him. That was in the 1950s.

We have a shirt that reads

"STOOPS WE DID IT AGAIN!"

and one that reads
"BEAT OU - BEEN THERE DONE THAT"

But honestly Ole Okie, I am VERY vervous about the Sat. game. Since we have won the last two and we have a really good team this year. In all the years I have been an OSU fan, this is the best team I can remember. When I went to school at OSU we couln't catch a pass!

I may not watch the game. I may go mow the lawn, I get too upset watching the bedlam game!

OU won the National Championship game last year?! That is news to any college football fan or any casual sports fan.

I know the feeling. In 1988, Barry Sanders' last year, I lived in rural Alabama -- no cable. But the OU-OSU game was on cable in Montgomery.

I drove into Montgomery and rented a motel room for the afternoon. It turned into one of the best football games I've ever seen -- 34-28 Zero U, with minutes left, but the Cowboys driving inexorably down the field. Switzer looked despondent on the sideline, as if he knew the end was near.

And, then, there was that insane roughing penalty -- an absolute travesty of a call on a clean block. But, still, there were a few seconds left -- time for a last chance pass into the end zone.

But that yahoo from El Reno (forgot his name) let Gundy's pass slip right thru his fingers in the back of the end zone...

First time I ever spent over $200 (after damages) for a motel room...

I have lived in Norman for 28 years but our kids both graduated from OSU. My husband is an OU grad. I graduated from a school in Missouri.

The Cowboys have a great team this year and the Sooners are not taking them lightly.

Not all Sooner fans hate OSU, but it seems like most all OSU fans DO hate OU. I always cheer for OSU when they aren't playing us. Any Cowboy fans out there who do the same for OU?
