RNC Chair Michael Steele on CNN's DL Hughley show last night... I think the correct message would have been along the lines of "I'm the political leader of the party, but Rush delivers our message with punch and humor every day to millions of Americans..." Oh well.

I still dont disagree with him making waves for the he** of it though...When a black guy tells another black guy that a republican did or said something "ugly" it means only one thing, and Rush ain't no f*ing racist. Steele was whoring himself out talking to da brothuh trying to 'get a little hiphop' in the GOP but it was a bad mistake.

Here is a link to the entire speech, it's chopped up into three 30 minute blocks

Was it? I missed it all. The CPAC stuff doesnt interest people interested in results, at least not this person. Steele just making waves sounds like a great plan at this moment to me. Really? Well, in my opinion Steele is a RINO SOB. Rush's speech was not incendiary, unless of course you are either a demwit or a RINO. I might add that since you missed Rush's speech you shouldn't be commenting at all until you do hear it, it is all over the web and there is even a copy on FR right now. Try listening and then make your troll like comments, at least you will have an air of credibility about you.

“I agree Bob. I head read the comments earlier and now I have seen them in context.”
Someone pointed that out in an earlier thread, that the context has to been considered. If Steele were on Face the Nation and said that Rush’s speech was incendiary and ugly, that would be entirely different to me.
So far, Steele has done well, from what I’ve seen.

As a long time EIB Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, I can say categorically that Rush has always been clear that he is a Conservative FIRST and then a Republican.
My understanding is that CPAC stands for Conservative Political Action....I don't see the word Republican there.
Rush was outstanding...

The left is coming after him. Yes, they will -- with all heavy artillery. The left is accustomed to running out the symphonic offendedness-offensive, and having the offender crawl off with tail between his legs. That won't happen with Rush. He will call them the names they don't want to hear until THEY beg for mercy. Go Rush.

Rush Limbaugh is not a principle. As Steele said, “Rush is an entertainer.” Rush is a talking-head that gets to preach to the choir everyday. Steele has another, far more complex task to complete.
I have yet to hear what principle Steele compromised or what issue he betrayed us on. The same goes for Cantor. We do not need a “cult of personality”, we already have Obama. Conservatives can’t put themselves into the position of having to defend everything Limbaugh says or does. Limbaugh does what he does and they do what they do and that is the way it should be.

The anti-Steele posts on this thread are garbage. People who can't think for themselves are idiots. There are very many of them on this thread. Actually it is the people who are making excuses for Steele who are not thinking for themselves. The video is plain, Steele was talking about Rush's speech and Rush. The lengths some people will go to, to let themselves be fooled by RINOs is simply mind boggling!

I agree Bob. I head read the comments earlier and now I have seen them in context. I believe..until he proves me wrong..that Michael Steel was saying the comments were incendiary in a good way. They are meant to light a fire..and ugly may be the wrong word, but I got the impression that raw may have been a better adjective. They are not tempered and calculated like THE ONE.
I watched the video as well and cannot fathom how you could come up with the explanation you have come up with to white-wash what was Micheal Steele calling Rushe's speech inceniary and ugly in the only way it could be taken, NEGATIVE!

The “Rush is an entertainer” crap comes from the Left. They use it every time they speak of Rush to marginalize his opinions.
When our side repeats that line, they are not only trying to marginalize Rush, they embolden the liars on the other side of the aisle.
Republicans THINK people are smart. Democrats KNOW people are stupid.

Here we go again, a party, destined to LOSE, and lose in a BIG WAY, when led by RINO LOSERS!!!
Steele is an afro-centric RINO POS, as I've said from DAY ONE.
Affirmative action, which Steele is for, has NO PLACE in our Republican Party Platform.
And what's this sh*t about HIP-HOP?
Who GIVES A SH*T about this POS music NOISE?

Sorry, but you and Mr. Steele can try and marginalize Rush all day long, as far as I am concerned, but he still is the authority on conservatism within the GOP and outside the GOP.
He is still the defacto leader of the GOP and conservatism.
Keep chattering away and defending the inexcusable actions and statements of Mr. Steele and others who think they can win by trending to the center and left.
You, and the GOP will continue to lose elections as a result.

I suggest the National Republican Trust, not at all controlled by the RNC:
http://nationalrepublicantrust.com/
Yes, Dick Morris is involved, as an adviser, but -— so far they are doing good work. They ran ads against the 3 RINO Porkulus Senators.
I give a little to them, a little to the NRA, and a little to NRLC.
That, and a little to CANDIDATES, directly.
