Talk show vs politician. Sounds interesting. :)
Roger that.
Rush also managed to get a rise out of the white house again.
Amen -- I've been saying that for months.
The GOP and Dems were not the original two parties in this country; there's no rule saying that the GOP can't go into the dustbin, to be replaced by something better.
First Canter, now Steele. When did Conservatives become so inclined to knee-jerk react over nothing? This is a non-story.
*Watch the context*
You mean to say you arn’t one of the chest bumping, towel snapping crowd on the thread
Just since Michael Steele was elected I have recieved three (3) letters from the RNC asking for money to fund their NEW campaign.......yata, yata, yata.
I laid them aside, thinking that I would hide and watch and see whether Steele and the RNC actually DID begin doing something remotely conservative.
With these recent remarks by Steele those three letters just went into the round file!
My opinion of him as a possible leader in the Republican Party was bolstered by that 20 minute conversation. To see him bowing to left wing nuts like D.L. Hugely is truly a disgrace. Other than that, I am at a loss for words.
I would just like to state, for the record, that I was NOT among the Freepers on the Steele bandwagon for RNC Chair, or for the VP nomination, or for much of anything else. His early support for McCain in the primary season was one of several red flags for anyone who cared to see them at the time.
I did not expect this from Michael Steele but if he said it than he is just as much a RINO as Schwarzenegger, McCain and others.
Note to Steele: you cannot win elections by being dem light nor would you want to. If you cannot be an honest conservative with core values and principles steeped in that tradition of less taxes, bring prolife and limited government and willing to defend those principles without compromise then you have no business being a conservative in the first place.
He's not suggesting a third party -- he means a REPLACEMENT second party. The Repubs (as currently constituted) can become the third party.
As far as kicking out all the RINOs.... great idea in theory. How will it come about? Conservatives have been trying to do this for 15 years and so far have failed miserably. The RINOs are entrenched at the power levels; they're not going anywhere. A replacement conservative/constitutional party is, more and more, seeming like the only way to clean out the rat nest once and for all.
(Forgive if I seem harsh; I watched "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" the other night and am all fired up lately....)
The Republicans ARE Socialists.
“I have a bond with Rush that cannot be broken.”
That remains to be seen.
The left is coming after him.
Will conservatives defend him or slip quietly into the night like we’ve been doing the past two years?
I have no faith whatsoever in the Republican Party to fight the left.
Cowards, or Accomplices, I haven’t quite determined which term fits our fine, fine politicians on the “right”.
I can’t play the full video. Anyone have a transcript?
Don’t hit your scroll wheel while watching this video—a bug, or a bad idea, I don’t know.
I agree Bob. I head read the comments earlier and now I have seen them in context. I believe..until he proves me wrong..that Michael Steel was saying the comments were “incendiary” in a good way. They are meant to light a fire..and “ugly” may be the wrong word, but I got the impression that “raw” may have been a better adjective. They are not tempered and calculated like THE ONE.
I’m sure Michael Steele will prove me wrong tomorrow but that is what I got from that video.
I have a bond with Rush THAT CANNOT BE BROKEN. No matter what happens tomorrow.
I don’t throw any one under the bus for one thing, especially one thing reported by the media.
I am not throwing Steele under a bus.
I am just taking it all in.
To the GOP, I suppose that is incendiary and ugly, because we're just supposed to hug and kiss the Dems and sing Kumbaya and adopt their ideology so that when politicians take us over the cliff into full blown global socialism, at least they will have an (R) next to their name.
