Nice to see you WCC! :D
The nomination of McCain pulled the parameters left just as I thought it would. The powers that be will interpret that to mean we need to go farther left not that we need a real Conservative.
Indeed. I have renounced the Republicans, even as I said I would when Hunter stepped down. I do not see any value in supporting them any longer. They will continue to dwindle, and we do not have time to waste. We need real, and forthright opposition from the ground up.
Not that it matters as Republicans wouldnt know a real Conservative if one bit them on the a$$. We saw that in action during the primaries.
It is my observation that the game is rigged so greatly against any real Conservative having a voice in the process, that it is a certainty that one will never be offered. Oh they will hoot and they will holler, and they will sound Conservative again, just to get their way... But it will never really happen. It is globalism that they serve.
Same here! Thought Steele might work out... BUT, everyone needs to email or write the RNC and tell them they're making a mistake...AGAIN! We do not need the "Hip Hop" (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2197103/posts) culture injected into the GOP from its new "gangsta" leader, we need a return to Values, Morals and Principles.
That's the feeling I have too. One by one, every Conservative candidate was knocked out of the primary until we ended up with McCain?- (The one candidate most Conservatives said they would NEVER vote for?)This appears to have been done deliberately-from within our party.
What happened to Duncan Hunter? He was my (and many FReeper's ) choice. He was completely shut out. (He is still my choice BTW.)
SO-Is it time to "move on" from the Republican party? I'm sorry, but, I think it is time.
People can say it would be a disaster to go third party. "Stay and change the Republican party from within" yadda yadda yadda.
How can you "change from within" when your own party plots against you? i.e. You send in your money- they give you McCain? Then at the last second- they put up Sarah Palin. But when it becomes obvious that- because of her Conservatism- he might get it- (which means she would be the POTUS candidate in '12), they do NOTHING to defend her against every MSM outlet on the planet, attacking her. (And now; I'm reading that they are attacking Rush? @#$%*%&#@^&*&*^%*@##$!!!!!! )
Seems to me, it is time to say bye. This would have to be done very carefully. We don't want to splinter off into 100 different smaller parties that have no chance of winning any election. There would have to be leadership through the process. I would like to see Conservatives take an honest and unflinching look at going third party.(How about starting the "Reagan Party?)"
In the meantime, I keep seeing posts asking us to contemplate all the damage Obama could do in 4 years. 4 years? How about all the damage he's done in 4 weeks?!
$3,000,000,000,000!
(That's 12 freak'in zeroes-FYI)
But if you really want to scare yourself- put in keyword "IRAN" and read any stories you find. Then contemplate the "Albright" redux and the other "geniuses" we have handling this.
Be afraid. Be very afraid.
Pray, pray for our nation. Pray every day.
Here is the earlier thread. Notice it has almost 10,000 views. Looks like Steele is really barking up the wrong tree with the FR gang.

Then the vast majority of Republicans in the House and Senate would have voted for Porkulus, if they were socialists.
Yes, why even bother going on any liberal show on MSNBC or CNN (except for Lou Dobbs)?
Republicans should boycott these stations so it will be more obvious to open minded folks who watch CNN and MSNBC how biased they are. Strange to say there are still many people who don’t get it. They think they’re actually hearing real news on those stations!
At about 45 seconds into the interview, Steele says "Rush is an entertainer. Rush's whole thing is about entertainment. Yes, it's incendiary. Yes it's ugly."
I don't know if Steele's talking specifically about Rush's CPAC speech, but he's certainly dissing what Rush does.
Sounds accurate to me. Rush wont run because of his mouth. I can’t believe I’m actually typing this ridiculous garbage.
Is there an email for Mr. Steele?
seems like Mr. Steele is suffering from McCain’s clueless disease.
I listened to the video 3 times and what I heard was “incendiary and (mumbles something).” Maybe you guys have better hearing than I do, but I can’t hear the word “ugly.” Are you sure this isn’t something thrown out by leftists to create strife? Maybe Steele will turn out to be an unforgivable RINO, but I don’t have enough evidence yet.
I very distinctly heard ugly—even before I found this thread.
He's already got all 3 of them. The GOP needs to support primary opponents when they run for re-election.
yeah baby!!!!!!!!!! well said
As usual what idiots putting two moron blacks up against Michael Steele both are such morons they run in gangs..when they have no brains they have to talk over some intelligent person like Michael Steele..
Every time I get something from them, I write back a flaming letter to them, then mail it back to them with a big ZERO on the receipt thing they send, and mail it in their envelope, postage paid!!!!
I heard it, but it was not clear to me exactly what he meant by it. If he meant what most posters here seem to think he meant, it was about as counterproductive a statement as any Chairman of the RNC could make.
Since this issue doesn't seem to be going away, Steele should issue a clarification.
Not great but adequate.
