Morning Manna.
After a two week visit from the In-laws, Snippy's visit was just what I needed to get my morale back up.

A sad day it is, losing such a fine man as Bob Hope. Many will remember him for his movies but many more will remember him for all he did for our troops around the world. ![](http://www.theflagpole.com/images/flags13hr.jpg)

Morning w_over_w.
Do they make jury duty easy to report for there? Illinois had a "call in to see whether to show up system" that worked pretty well

Snippy's Vacation continued;
Monday July 14
Today was our first planned full day trip. SAM packed a picnic lunch and dinner, made a huge thermos full of coffee, and picked me up early as usual. We headed off to what SAM calls the Mt. Hood loop, through the falls and around the entire mountain.

We even went to the lodge on top of the mountain. We stopped at many of the falls along the way, got wet, hiked a lot, laughed a lot and had a really great day. Also along the 'loop' we stopped and toured Bonneville dam.
Somewhere along the drive, later in the day we were driving in the Hood River Valley and stopped for a picnic dinner, it is so quiet around these mountains, wonderful silence. Then we went up to the small town of Parkdale, parked by the train tracks and walked to a local ice cream shop and had giant waffle cones filled with yummy chocolate ice cream. mmmmm! ![](http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid69/p74f79cf861a64e26008aa224190dea47/fba98e87.jpg)
