Hey dude, we love you! At least me and Carrie do!
Come home safe, brotherman!
My offer stands forever! Prayers up, Soldier! God Speed.
I would appreciate a 'howdy' to Hotmetal from y'all Freepers, and so would he.
Thanks

Thank you all for reminding us of the blessings of freedom in the US, preserved and defended by people like Hotmetal.
G-dspeed, Hotmetal, to you and all your comrades in arms. Thank you for keeping us safe!
You just sold another CD for Tommy Conners. God Bless him!
God bless you and prayers up!
Thanks Waterhill, for the ping.
Hi Hotmetal,,,,this post comes from the Heartland of America, Wisconsin. I’m a military wife, with my husband being retired from the Air Force for 4 years after serving 26 years. He was in the WI Air Nat’l Guard. A few days after 9-11 he was activated full time for 2 years and spent time in the current war when it started. He was at the base in Kuwait when the first fighting started in 2003.
I met a much younger soldier recently, as he came to my house to service my Dish Network system. As this young man exited his truck I noticed the absence of hair on his head and many tatoos on his bare arms (sleeveless shirt). As a Christian I try to see the insides and not the outsides, I knew not if he were a rough character or an angel with tatoos and no hair. Turns out he was an angel, and a warrior in the US Army.
It took 2 hours to fix the Dish, and we got to talking. We were very much alike. Me with no tatoos (and more hair), and he looking like a young man who had a job as a repairman.
He was half my age. By the time he left, I was feeling so humbled and grateful for this man I nearly cried when he left as I thanked him for his service to my country.
He had served a tour in Iraq and 3 in Afganistan.
He was young enough to be my son if I had one.
His friendly disposition and sunny outlook on life did not reveal the stark and brutal reality of what he must have seen in combat. He said he was a scout. He looked for trouble first, ahead of the rest of the troops he was with.
Hotmetal,,,I am in absolute AWE that you volunteered to serve America. As I told my friend who I just decribed above, “Thank you for your service to our nation.”
May God protect you and hold you in the palm of His hand and bring you home safely.
Peace be with you, God is near you, we all wish you the best.
Hi JustAmy...It’s me pinging you and your list. We have a soldier who needs some Freeper TLC. Thanks.
Hotmeal: Thank you for your service. Stay safe you hear? Joining in with a big AMEN to all the prayers here.
waterhill: Thanks for this thread. You’re one of the best. 8D
Cool homepage, I see where you get your handle.
Words are inadequate to the task - thanking you & your buds for risking your lives on the behalf of people you don’t even know, wishing you all a safe return home to your loved ones. Just know I am so grateful.
As I recall, the line at 29 Palms MCAGCC was, “At least it’s a DRY heat.” I always wanted to punch the fella who said that right in the kisser.
Don’t be that guy. LOL
So stay cooooooooool, Hotmetal, stay safe. Come home. There are lots of good people praying for you and your family who awaits your homecoming.
Why yes...what state you live in?
Thanks for your sacrifice. It’s people like you and your fellows who are going to have to put this country back together. Your service is very honorable and necessary.
My prayers for your safe return. May the summer pass quickly for you. Love and thanks from the big city. We are all grateful for your service.
The Hoosier state! (Imaginary home of Richard Lugar.)
Now let me know your location ASAP. If I’m going to have to drive halfway across the country with the emergency brake on, I should probably be getting on the road soon...
ROTFLOL
Hi Onyx,,,,here’s a thread that you and your list might want to see and contribute to. Cheers...TCP
