By a unanimous vote the Board issued this statement:
The Silver Star Families of America, representing thousands of members across the United States and thousands of wounded or ill Alumni, stands with the Honorable Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Military Order of the Purple Heart, the American Legion and the Liberty Legal Institute in appealing to the Supreme Court to rule this Memorial does not violate the establishment clause of the Constitution.
The Board statement continued with: The Board is also extremely concerned that this attack on a historic Veterans Memorial is a prelude to attacks on other Memorials.
In point of fact, the Board challenges the establishment clause itself. The Board finds it a leap of illogic to interpret the 1st Amendment as separation of Church and state.
Fully agreed to and placed in the Board minutes. //Board of Directors// Silver Star Families of America
